  1. Im sure its been covered already, but I can't find the topic on Guat. brass flash holes. I have an RCBS Universal Decapper, and sure enough the flash hole in the Guatemalan 5.56 is too small for the decap pin. Is there a smaller pin I can replace it with? I don't feel like drilling out many many holes.
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. I was thinking along the same lines as that. In the 55 grain my AR likes the VMax better than the 55 grain Sierra FMJ.
  3. I just bought a box of .224 68 grain Hornady match BTHP. I will load it for an AR15 with LC brass. Does anyone have a starting load in H335, Tac, or Varget? I can't find any starting loads for this bullet. Thanks for any help out there.
  4. I went shooting today and shot some hand loads. It got hot. 100 degrees. I was not shooting hot loads but I noticed pierced primers. Shooting AR15. Fairly new rifle. Less than 500 rounds thru it. First batch was 5 rounds of: win brass (new) WSR primer 24.0 gr. H335 55 gr. SFMJ/BT = one pierced primer Other loads were some 1X L.C. brass 20 rounds: WSR primer 24.7 TAC Hornady 55 FMJ/WC = three pierced primers. Now I have to buy a new firing pin. What gives? How much do you reduce military brass powder capacity? Do you reduce from the starting load?
  5. I have read that hitting the shell holder will crack the carbide die. I am resizing on a single stage press. Mabe I need to get a hold of Dillon . Both dies are new, I am using Dillon spray lube.
  6. I am just getting set up for AR 15 reloading. I was using a Lee F/L .223 steel die to resize before running brass thru my RL550. I am checking the brass with a Wilson chamber gage. Everything is going well, brass looks good when gaging. Then I decide to try my Dillon carbide F/L .223 to resize other brass from the same lot, fired from the same gun. I adjusted the die as per Dillons instructions, touch then back off 1/2 turn. But in the Wilson chamber gage the brass is hanging out on the head end. Before running thru the dies I checked all before in the Wilson gage. They all fit completely inside the gage. I measured the headspace before and after, no problem with the Lee die. The Dillon Die I have almost touching the shell holder and still the brass in the Wilson gage protrudes above the highest step. Measuring the headspace difference before and after thru the Dillon Die the headspace is actually longer, not shorter. I cannot adjust the die any further down. Does this sound crazy? Any thoughts out there?
