walangkatapat
Wow! Thanks for all the responses. I met my wife while I was stationed B Co Marine Barracks NAS Cubi Point, Philippines back in 82-83. Before the swearing in there was a video shown showing some of those that have gone through the Naturalization process, different years, different cultures and what stands out is how happy, grateful they are to become citizens. After my wife's swearing in there was one man from Namibia that was grinning ear to ear, one guy from New Zealand, one lady from Vietnam asked me to take a couple of pictures of her since she was alone, China, Brazil, Ukraine, another woman from PI, the happiness they showed just about brought tears to my eyes(I'm getting soft). Its great to see those that appreciate being in a Country where the opportunities can be endless and they realize this possibility instead of all the negativity you hear from some of our own. walangkatapat
That is fantastic! My only question is what took so long ? We've started the process a couple of times before and always got side tracked for one reason or another.
SharonAnne9x23
as a sister immigrant I congratulate her and you. I moved from Canada in 1977 and kept my Canadian citizenship to keep my job in Canada. When I became an RN in Michigan I became a US Citizen also, in 1994 IIRC. I have never regretted it.
