What I did on my custom P-35 is originally the smith stippled front & back & the back stap he stippled all the way up under the semi-beavertail part of the frame and it did stutter my grasp on the draw or cause me to grasp low, so I had him remove the stippling and smooth it up under the semi-beavertail & a third of the way down so that only the bottom 2/3 of the backstrap was stippled and it solved the problem and still allowed some grippy texture there. Stippling to me works well only under perfect conditions, if my hands are sweaty or really cold or wearing the wrong gloves it is worthless, but better than nothing!
