Pappy1
I just purchased some 147 Grain FMJ bullets for my 7.62. I am looking for some reloading data. Does anyone load for this type of weapon or can you guide me in the right direction.

392heminut
I've used 45.0 grns of Reloader-15 and 45.0 grns of Varget. Both loads functioned good but the Varget load was quite a bit more accurate in my DPMS LR308.
fltbed
From my notes, I’ve had three powders I’ve tested that shown accuracy in a few different rifles. All loaded with LC brass. Winchester primers. 45.4 gr. Varget 46.6 gr. BL-C2 41 gr. IMR 3031 (Max load) Velocities were between 2700-2800 depending on the rifle. I’ve also substituted 150 gr. SPBT bullets with these loads. Hope this helps. Jeff
Pappy1
Thanks for the info. I to have a DPMS SASS and that is what I am trying to work up a load for. I have plenty of 30 cal bullets. I have tried several different weights. The one thing that I noticed is that with out the canular around the bullet, the bullets would move while ejecting the loaded rounds out of the bolt. All of these bullets had a good strong crimp. I am sure that is why there are canular groves around the bullets. I am not sure what the military uses but I think it was the 147 grain FMJ.
