  1. Very good opening post. Really helps me to understand where I am now. I started out slow but accurate, then pushed to hard and wheels and accuracy both fell off. I am trying now to do exactly what you were describing and see only what I need to see. It seems I can do that through parts of a stage, but if there is even a minor hiccup in my plan, I overcompensate by starting to shoot at one target and not seeing that target but the next one I am going to. I know I need more practice and to become more aware of what to see, and your post really helped to reinforce that. Along with the great followup discussions.

I am still learning myself, and you will always need to use the fundamentals, but one thing I can tell you that helped me out a great deal was watching some of the better shooters, not trying to keep up with them, but watching their foot work, and how to break down stages. I was once told to look at a stage and break it down and figure out how to effectively shoot each portion based on my skills. Once I applied the fundamentals consistently, and started to figure out stages, I noticed great improvement.
