Yeah, that's an interesting phenomenon isn't it? I think it can take weeks to months to get the tendon to remodel and back to full strength, but the pain reduction is almost immediate. Years ago I used to do all the same exercises followed by massage and ultrasound and I thought the exercise made the muscles and tendons stronger, while the massage and ultrasound made the tendon feel better. It took me years to figure out that it was the exercise itself that makes the tendons feel better and the massage/ultrasound was doing almost nothing. Counter-intuitively the exercises didn't work unless the weights were heavy enough to really stress the tendon. Even having read all the research on the subject, I didn't get a true appreciation for how it worked until the last time I got 'shooter's elbow' myself. If I missed a few days of training my pain came back worse, but if I did the exercises daily, strength rapidly returned while pain dissipated. So it's really cool to see you are finding the same thing. I tell people to just "keep trudging," and way more often then not I tell them to "go heavier."

Question, how quick till you folks were able to dryfire again?

  2. I am smack dab in the middle of the same thing, for the same reasons. Did you lay right off of dryfire, and if so, how long? Currently on anti-inflammatories and physio, first week of treatment, but after smashing dryfire hard for four month dailies, I am somewhat disappointed, one could say.........

I have a Bull Shadow 2 with palm swell brass grips. 55oz with mag and dot.
    I also have a P10F with SRO, 27oz.

The recoil management of the BS2 is much much better and I can run that gun a little faster on the trigger (which is also much nicer once on SA), but its slower to transition. I am currently using the P10F as my primary, BS2 as my backup. This is after running one for 9 matches straight and the other for 8 matches straight.

However, once I put a reach reduction and short reset in the BS2 I will reevaluate. It for sure runs smoother but it's heavy.

    Excellent comparison info! Thanks!

  4. Thanks Racinready300ex! Exactly what I am wondering, is if the transition times versus the recoil management times are worth the weight. I fling the heavy gun around pretty good, but now that we are allowed 3# every pull in PO, it seems like maybe the striker fired platform can be as competitive. Just read the thread by CClassforever, interesting story!

  5. Question for everyone, I currently run two heavy ( brass grips added ) Shadow 2s for Production Optics. Gun runs super flat, dot never leaves SRO window, not even close. I also ran a Glock G35 in Standard ( Limited ) and really liked the simplicity and ease of repair at the safe table. Is there an advantage, all other things being equal, like training load, skill set, to running the super heavy CZ versus the much lighter Glock?

    Appreciate your thoughts and opinions!
