  1. A group of us are heading to Omaha for the Area 3 Championship. I have been put in charge of finding a good steak house in the area to visit Friday after the match.

    Anybody have any recommendations ??

Try Johnny's Cafe at 25th and L in the Stockyards area, or Piccolo Pete's just south of 20th and Martha. Both of these are in east Omaha and are old-line Omaha steak houses. Also worth trying is Warren Buffett's favorite, Gorat's, at about 50th and Center. Ask for the "Warren special" - a T-bone with a double order of hash browns.

PS: Ask Troy about his ribeye at Johnny's when he came down for our CRO class!

  2. May be "180 trap" wasn't the best term. Probably could have said 180 nightmare? Especially using a rifle. Oh well I guess I will be the whipping boy for a few months. A year from now they will have stories about that time Shawn made himself look like an ass on the internet! Wouldn't be the first time and most likely won't be the last.

Whipping boy? Nah. A "reminder" at the annual banquet? A good possibility!

  3. I watched a 180 get broke during the rifle stage of a 3-Gun match. It was a 180 trap. Here is some video of my run(I didn't DQ).

I'll add to Thomas H's messages that the stage didn't have a "trap" in it on purpose. A trap would indicate a willful design to catch shooters, and I can attest that there was not an intention to DQ our shooters. Nineteen of the twenty shooters did not DQ on that stage. At the walkthrough, both the stage designer and the safety officer made note of the 180 warning.
