  1. My wife is the kind of person that everyone loves working with because she always takes on extra work and responsibilities when no one else will. She really cares about ensuring everything gets done and doesn’t fall apart. Then she comes home and feels the same way you do - frustrated that no one else is stepping up and worried that everything is on the verge of not working. I tell her the only way to start fixing it, is to stop going above and beyond for everyone else. Just say no and only do the things that one person can be reasonably expected to do. Then, the the issues become more pronounced and things get bad for everyone. To the point that those who had been sitting back before simply have to start stepping up. And if they don’t, well it all falls apart. And it should. Sometimes, things have to get bad before they can start to get better.

I would just continue doing what you enjoy doing and only taking on what you feel is fair and reasonable for one person to do. And let the chips fall where they may. Don’t spend too much time focusing on how little others are doing. They have already demonstrated to you how they fall short. Don’t let their shortcomings take anything else from your psyche. They will not change unless they have to, and even then maybe not. And in the meantime, you will start to see others like you. And you can try to spend more time with them.

  2. If it’s doing what it’s supposed to - your Mantis should be doing a good job monitoring your trigger pull. I use one and believe what it’s telling me, but it could be misleading me. And at 25,000 dry fire rounds this year, you’ve put a lot of work already. So you aren’t exactly a beginner in terms of dry fire trigger pulls.

  3. Yes, that’s sort of true. Except shooting a 9mm in Limited 10 comes with an inherent disadvantage to major shooters. That disadvantage doesn’t exist in Production. And if I was going to work within that disadvantage, I’d just shoot full limited.

We may as well allow them in Production at this point.  I love single action triggers, but some of the things going on in Production right now are a way bigger "advantage" than a trigger system.  It might be best to just combine Production, SS, and L-10 into one division.

That sure would simplify things and breathe a little life into those divisions. Being very new to the sport though, I’m sure there’s a downside I don’t recognize. Still, I second the  motion!

  5. Hey, thanks for doing that legwork. I wonder if that uncertainty is more related to knowing about the availability of the model to them and timing. If they do become readily available in the US market, it would seem to fit in well with their current 92 series offerings. So much so, it would be a glaring absence especially because it’s the first 92xp with a factory RDO cut, something LTT can’t do to the fullsize 92xp.

  6. I put a fullsize slide on an AXG grip module too. But I put the classic wood grips on it. Purely for looks. I do like how it comes into my grip on draw a little better than the X5 Legion. But the trigger on the X5 is better. I think thats a Grayguns trigger. I’m going to send one of them off to the Sig Armorer for a match barrel, probably the X5. But I’m tempted to run with the AXG. I’m not much of a shooter (yet) so Rowdy would be the better perspective for sure on these two.

i wouldn’t be surprised if Grayguns comes out with at least the parts to put together a 40 limited. And it would be sweet with a steel frame.

Maybe in the case of Mason, but I do not think much is done to Nils’s Guns.  I could be wrong.  The fact that Nils shot a plastic 9mm in Minor and placed second in Limited less than 1% behind Mason is crazy.

One thing is is for certain. Sig, Canik and Beretta could not be happier today.

And Bruce Gray! Grayguns upper on an X5 lower I believe. And although the results wouldn’t suggest it, I hear Mason was playing around with an aluminum frame and soon steel frame limited ptypes. But as far as Mason goes maybe it’s one of those if it ain’t broke don’t fix situations.

  8. I don’t like the slide mounted safety. Once I saw the 92X Performance had a frame safety, it was a done deal. Not a bad idea to wait and see what LTT does with defensive 92X Perf with the RDO mount. It’ll certainly have a nicer trigger, not that there’s anything wrong with the stock 92X trigger. But’s LTT’s trigger is so sweet!

  9. Nice solution. I don’t like the cheesy thing taped to the mag either. But at least you don’t need to get another holster for it. One of these days, I’m going to learn how to mold Kydex. If you’re not shy about drilling and tapping your dustcover, you can get a picatinny rail adapter for the TSO from CZ Custom for like $45.

I’m glad CZ is listening to their customers. I also have to use a dremel to blend the mag well on my TSO.

I picked up a 9mm TSO in June had the blended magwell so they’ve been good to go for awhile now. But George16, that’s a heck of a good blending job with your Dremel!

I am interested too. What parts are in Turkish? The stuff I saw said at least the slide and frame was made in America, I think the barrel too. But maybe I didn't catch everything

Maybe none. There was talk of this pistol a couple of weeks or so ago on one of the 1911 forums and folks there were guessing it was just going to be the Gersan or Tisas parts being imported and assembled in the US. Like a rebranded version of the EAA that’s also coming out. If the SA-35 is made entirely in the US, that will be a real discriminator. It should also help bring the price for used BHPs back to earth. Win win.

a custom tungsten-infused plastic gun, that you probably still can't buy.....

And Mason takes it again with his humble X5. Must have had a good day today. We’re proud of him back home. Way to go Mason!

  13. I got my first gun after someone tried to break into my house while I was home and I felt a little vulnerable chasing him off with just my K-bar. But after I got the gun (a 1911) I quickly fell for the thing as a mechanical device. Not the lethality or protection it offered. Just loved how it was put together and operated as a machine. And the history of it’s development. I was hooked. I didn’t see a gun I didn’t want after that for a few years. I got out of shooting for a long time but now I’m back and hooked even worse. So anyway, I have all these nice pistols and then I discovered that folks perform and compete with these things! Perfect, it would now make so much more sense for my wife! Wrong..  Anyway, I started with the obsession buying and now am getting around to the performance.

  14. Thanks Sarge. I can use all the advice I can get. And now that I have a range to shoot, I’m putting as many rounds down as I can afford. Lot’s of dry firing too. Beyond equipment my focus has been on muzzle and trigger discipline; grip; sight acquisition, natural point of aim; recoil management. I’ve made a ton of progress on those things. Now I can start with movement both with my sights and with a loaded gun.

40 minor makes sense in Production.  Make a soft shooting load and not be at a magazine capacity disadvantage.

Out of curiosity how many matches have you shot yet?

Not a one Sarge. I just passed my range qualification two weekends ago. The first group of new members since COVID.  So now I can live fire on my own. Got back into shooting after a 20+ year hiatus back in April. Found a great instructor because I wanted to refresh my safety and handling. Turns out he’s sort of a big practical guy. Something I didn’t even know about 6 months ago. There are some really great shooters that get to the club matches which is 5 minutes from my house. So it turns out I’m sort of in a great place to learn. Im going to work at my first USPSA match next weekend so I can see what’s what. Hoping to jump in myself next spring.

There are plenty of divisions to shoot from. If you like shooting 9mm no one is stopping anyone.

This has been discussed numerous times, argued, vetted. name it, you got it, this has all been tackled before.

Even the big names will tell you they will not shoot minor unless it is utterly necessary because of the stages.

Bring it to the big stage like Nationals and World Shoot. If you shoot minor in standard/limited, open, classic - it will be a hard fought battle to the top.

I will wait for the TS2 to release a 40 caliber until then I am good with the CZ 75 TS Orange in 40 caliber.

Hey Yagi. What would you prefer in the TS2 over the TSO?

If in that far off future where .40 is dead

    everybody will be shooting 9mm.
so to plan on a .40 minor for limited your really handy capping yourself.
the mag capacity has to be 4-5 rounds different.
no way I would shoot a .40 with 21 rounds

    when I could shoot a 9 with 25-26

if the only scoring was minor.

I hear what you’re saying and agree. I was actually thinking more for Production. I’d never considered downloading .40 for that. And I suppose there’s still no real compelling reason to do that on it’s own. But with one .40 you could jump back and forth between limited major and production minor as long as it was DA/SA. If I have that right. All the scenarios are complicated for sure and for a newbie like me - one moment I think I’ve got it figured out, the next I feel kinda dumb. Like with my 9mm TSO. At first purchase, USPSA was the furthest thing from my mind and I just couldn’t resist this awesome looking pistol. Then a couple of weeks later, the idea of USPSA wasn’t so far out there and I learned no SA in production and CO. By then not only did I have my 9mm TSO, I had picked up the not-so-cheap optic mount. And my instructor, who’s a great guy and was trying hard to make me feel not so dumb, said hey no worries, you can use it in open minor. Talk about chasing your tail!
