  1. Canik used to send free a lighter blue tipped captured recoil for less than nato power ammo, then they  started selling them BUT then they sent 2 free after I bought 2... go figure... I just said I was having issues with not going back into battery. My S ran right out of the box WITH 130  PF RELOADS x 125 blue bullets x titegroup (Shh, don't say "reloads). OAL is fussy depending on the bullet... That was not with full mags, so???. I have the uncaptured springs & recoil rod for a spare. Mike

  2. i'm lucky, Most of my shooting is done at Rio Salado Sportsman's Club, Mesa AZ., where every style of shooting competition is done from sub gun, black power, 22,223, 308 bench rest, Tuesday Night Steel (just under 200 shooter's per week), plus USPSA club's regular monthly match's, If your not quick on Practiscore you don't shoot.... AND many more types I'm fore getting.. In the Phoenix AZ. area, you can shoot in competition somewhere every night of the week, if you wish.. Plus add the Public Range that's open to all.  Mike

My newer 9mm Super GP is, so far, resistant to ultralight springs, but I did find one that will reset my .357" 100% of the time, rather than 99.9%. I think the new 9mm gun needs a bit more trigger plunger work, and might also need a bit of pawl fitting to advance cylinder timing a bit, so I can run a shorter trigger plunger.

My 10mm Match Champion, so far the only 6rd Ruger I own, has a bit of staging to it in double action. A few chambers seem worse than others, which points to pawl/ratchet fit, but I don't have a good sense for that interaction yet, and don't want to mess with it until I'm done with the IDPA match this weekend.

Of the useful tricks I've found, one of the handier ones is using M5 washers as spacers on the mainspring strut between the spring and seat, to preload the hammer spring a bit—it lets you adjust hammer fall weight almost as finely as a strain screw, which saves you having to jump all the way up to the next weight of spring.

I've only been to obtain the Wolff 8# hammer spring.... what are you doing  to this spring OR have you found a substitute? Mike,

Well, maybe they are just slow??.. Their website does state it may take a while for shipping. Mine showed "in stock" if the green box means anything? , so who knows. I emailed them saying "in stock?"...Ya, they took the CC fast and I had a order #, so???...

Emailed them, (quick response), will ship today/tomorrow. Black it is....  Good !!

  7. Well, let's see if we are "Darksided". Family Firearms had my ship to FFL info, a discounted price and took payment from my CC. It's early Monday morn, 3/13/23,  all we need is a shipping notice.  I just added the brass backstrap to my other Rival so it seems most likely the steel frame is on it's way?.  Hope they had access to one OR I will wait for a discounted chrome version... Mike

  8. I've said previously, optics or iron sights, leave the choice up to the shooter. If red dots are such a big advantage? we will buy them. I certainly can not compete in USPSA open class with only 8 shots  in a revolver if I need or desire a red dot.
