  1. I have Dawson FO front and rear on both my 34 and 35...love them!

I have Dawson FO front and rear on both my 34 and 35...love them!

Oh yea..I also have Blade Tech DOH & Paddle and a Comp Tac paddle for my 34 and 35.

The BT just site in te bag now...I really prefer CT product over BT products. JMHO

  2. I swipe a feeler gage over the head of my reloaded ammo to make sure the primers are seated at least flush. The feelers are just a convenient straight edge.

+1 on checking the striker. If you have an overtravel stop set for too short of a trigger pull, the safety plunger may not get out of the way of the striker, and you end up raising a burr.

I have had the same problems....Federal primers fixed it right away!

  3. I had to change to the taller FS for G35. Has to do with the angle of the barrel vs the slide.

    If you haven't bought one, I'd say .285 for G17 & G22, .300 for G34 & G35.

The DP FO front sight rules! I love all 3 or mine:)

  4. I got a Lyman digital pull gauge and tested the LW connector against the Scherer that came with the Vanek kit.

The LW connector I used is the one pictured in the link below. I know that LW has made a couple different versions.

    http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=358424

With Both connectors, I measured about 2 lb. 10 oz. The Scherer measured slightly lower on average. All my measurements were for a full pull, although I added a pre-travel stop to the ejector/trigger housing. I didn't think to check from reset until I revisited the thread. Oops!

    I love my Vanek Trigger!

  5. I started USPSA and IDPA with a G-22 and a G-17...Both were great! I now shoot a 34 & 35....both are great! I like the 5in better personally.I guess its whatever works best for you. Some STI guys like 6in...most prefer the 5in...whatever floats your boat. Were talkn Glocks here....ya cant go wrong:)

  6. I think it is wrong to mix popper designs at a match. All forward falling, or all conventional.

I dont mind mixed poppers at all.I like the "floppers"...they add yet another trick to this sport we love so much. The trickier a stage the more I like it! :D JMHO

  7. I just bought a G 35 W Vaneks Ultimate Trigger in it.It is very nice! Light and smooth throughout the entire pull.Overtravel is not a prob..it works great for me! I would recomend doing buisness with Charley.I have meet and shot with him twice in OK...Very nice and knows what he is talking about...not to mention a great shooter:)

  8. Is the the Kydex DOH or the injected molded DOH. The kydex is a much thicker heavier design than the injected molded version.

I have had used one for Production, single stack and L10 with zero probelms

Thanks for all the input! I do have it on a sturdy belt though I dont know the manufacturer.I suppose it could be a little thicker.I am going to look into a CR rig as some of you suggested.I believe my holster is the Kydex model.I bought it used so Im not exactly sure. As I said my draws are fine as long as I dont have any tension on the gun so I think I will try another belt and stick with it for now.I must admit I really like a Ky-Tac that I had a chance to see.

  9. Yea I am going to stick with it for a while longer. I really like the way it rides. It just seems weird that under half tension that the the bottom of the holster swings out causing the grip to hit your side.I have used the lock tite on the screws as you suggested and that keeps them in there. What if someone was wanting some more retention though. Mine wont have it and as I said I do have it on a sturdy gun belt.seems as if you should be able to draw it under the tighest tension just the same as the lower setting. Thanks for the info and I am going to stick with it for now :)

FWIW, I have 4 Blade Tech DOH holsters and I've had several others. I use them with Eagles, Edges, my open gun a G34 and a G17 without any problem. 2 have TecLok's and 2 (much older holsters) have the offset hanger. My daughter uses the offset with her G34 for tactical and 3 Gun. I use purple LocTite on the tension threads and leave them relatively loose but secure enough that the gun stays in the holster when I have to go prome or crawl under obsticals. I'd suggest using it for a while, it will loosen up
  10. Well I had a well typed out question prepared and my CPU went haywire so I will try again. Here is the short version. I heard alot of good stuff about the DOH so I went and got one.I have it on a sturdy gun belt with their tek lock device holding it on. I dont see what all the hype is about. I have to have the tension adjustment set to the lowest setting possible to even get the gun out. If I have the slightest ammount of tension on the gun when I attempt to draw the bottom of the holster cants out driving the grip into my side thus making a very awkward if not impossible draw. Anone else experience this? I like the DOH idea and If you have absolutly no tension on the gun.. it works just fine. My wife wants one but she does not feel comfortable using it with no retention. Any ideas on other production legal holsters for women. Shes not looking for a level 3 or anything like that but it would be nice to be able to take a little hop and not have your gun come flying out. So am I doing something wrong or is the DOH really a POS?

p.s I am using it for a Glock 34 if that matters. I have talked to at least one person who had the same problem with his STI DOH combo.

    Thanks in Advance

  11. Well said Iand I fully agree. IMO the C Glocks are a novelty.I might be able to stomach ports on the Glock 10mm but other than that they are totally controlable without ports or comps.

The advantages of the porting on the C models is very neglible.

The disadvantages for the C models in a defensive role are pretty significant (blast, light, gas cutting, etc.).

    I wouldn't go with a C model for carry.

I will grant you that the .40 in the small and medium framed Glocks is quite a handful, however the small amount of porting just doesn't make that much difference. If you aren't completely committed to the .40 for work/departmental reasons I would also consider the nine. There is effectively no difference in terminal performance with premium defensive ammo between the two for a civilian.

    Good luck, Craig

  12. I must agree. Ebay is a Glock shooters best friend. There are a ton of parts and ad ons that E-bay will allow the sale of.Including entire uppers though they usually sell for a high price IMO.

Where is a good place to purchase a "factory" Glock 3.5 lb. connector and how much should I pay for it ?

Seem to be few and far between in my neck of the woods and I'm not too keen on shipping the lower end to the factory to have one installed.

    Thank you !!!

Ebay? About $10.00 plus whatever for shipping...I've also bought some parts from the classified section of "www.glocktalk.com," and been very pleased.

  13. How are the tungsten rods for 1911's? My Glock one broke in less than 1000 rounds. It is now uncaptured:) I will definetly check out the Alanta Arms ammo. She had to have the Jarret .40....what am I gonna say"no!"..lol. Not if im gonna keep shooting as much as I do.The gun is just a bit much for her & I know some good base power factor loads would prob do the trick.

Add a tungsten guide rod and you'll be suprize how you tame that gun!!
  14. I have the same problem with my Glock. My problem is with my grip style I sometimes rest on the slide lock causing it not to lock.I removed my extended lock and added a normal one....fixed the problem right away.Hope this helps some and glad to see Im not the only one with the problem:)

    Hi all,

I have a 2nd Gen G17 that won't always shoot to slide-lock. I shoot Production, and sometimes I take an extra shot, or shoot an array that requires 11 shots, but my gun dosent always lock back. Which spells d-i-s-a-s-t-e-r in A Class Production, when I'm not expecting it. I have to re-rack the slide manually, which is a concious thought process.

I have tried different slide-lock levers, and recently tried new mag springs. Seemed to help at first, but then 3 mags in a row, I had a fail to lock back. All with new ISMI springs.

Any body know what I can try next ???

  15. I just purchased a 14 and 12 lb reduced power spring for my wifes P-16 Jarret Model. My question is will using the lower power springs with full power WWB .40 cause any problems? The 12 definitly helps her manipulate the slide better.I havent got a chance to shoot it with the new springs and wanted to ask around before we did that. I havent started reloading yet so powering down the loads is not an option at this time.Any place to buy loaded down .40 for a decent price??

    Thanks In Advance

  16. I sent my Open gun to my smith for some other work after Space City Challenge, and he told me the guide rod had broken and fallen out at some time during the match.

Mark me down for 1 broken captured tungston guide rod. Sheared off the end cap. Low rounds through it. Glockmeister brand rod. I think Im going to stick with stainless for the money.

  17. I am trying to make my Glock trigger a little nicer with a few things I have laying around. Any advice on what to use or in what combination would be great. I am shooting a glock 17 in Production Class. I have a Titanuim Striker and plunger. Wolf extra power trigger spring and light striker spring. I also have a Ghost 3.5 lb Rocket trigger connector. Well what can I do with all this stuff? The only things I have had installed are the Light Striker spring and the Titanuim Striker and plunger. I have used these without any problems at all.I just want to smooth up the trigger a bit more.

    Thanks in advance

  18. I guess I'll have to give Miwall a try. I think I will do as you do, and use different ammo for an important match though. Since it's a Glock, my guess is that it will eat just about anything you feed it. Thanks.

I cant seem to find ammo much cheaper than the Wal- Mart Value packs. I hate not supporting local gun shops or ammo dealers, but Wally World has it cheap. I get 100 rnds 9mm Winchester for a little less than $12.00. That is pretty good in my book and the Winchester ammo works good for me. My wife on the other hand hates the Winchester ammo for her .40. its a bit hot for her. Any suggestions on a good .40 ammo that will just make power factor? She needs something lighter and Im not yet set to reload.

    Thanks in advance A-55522
