You may want to revisit moving down to 130.  I have found my PCC runs better with PF of over 140.  I believe that has been stated by many PCC shooters on this board in other threads.  Also my dot seems to move less with a higher PF.  I cannot tell you why that is, but I have seen others state something similar.  I do run a GMR 15 so your result may vary with your PCC.

As stated in other threads, worry about dot movement on the PCC and not felt recoil.  I guarantee you will not notice felt recoil once the buzzer goes off.

I could imagine the higher PF gets the comp to do a bit, I can see that.  Makes sense. Plus keeps the gas high enough for the blowback design.

Are you guys loading ammo specifically for your PCC?  I contemplated that for a month or two last year, but gave up. We shoot 9mm almost exclusively in my family. There’s 3 of us, multiple guns and a couple of PCCs. Things ended up getting too complicated for me. Now I found an OAL that seems to be 100% reliable in everything and is under the max recommended by Taylor Freelance for his Goliath base pads and I load the same ammo for all our 9mm. I’m right around 1.08-1.10 for Jacketed Bullets and shorter for coated. The PF for the pistols is right around 130-132 and for PCC it jumps to about 144.  Not optimal, for the PCC, but life sure is simpler for me.

So far, my pcc been reliable with 1.135-1.150 factory 147gr ammo I’ve tried. Most seem to load down to 1.10-1.125 though. So I thought I’d ask. My thought was to have a load for each. So I could tune the pcc pf down to 130 or so instead of the 140-145 most get running their pistol loads in them.

There is so many dependent factors

    What gun/barrel are you using?

    what magazine does it take?

probably other stuff that I cant think of right now...

That said, I load my pcc 9mm ammo to 4.5gr of sport pistol under a 115rn @ 1.125" to launch out of my Sig MPX Competition.  I came up with that length based off pretty much nothing.  It's proven to run reliable in my blaster and I didn't put anymore thought into it after that

Although I was looking for a generalized answer, I still should have listed my setup.      PSA AR9 16" complete (blem model) with Glock mags.   Currently starting the stage with my ETS40 and pulling Glock 33rd as needed from belt. So far it's been reliable with the factory stuff I've ran.  1.138-1.155 range OAL.    Fenix 115gr 1100fps FMJ reman range ammo. Even lower recoil Fenix NAS3 147gr FMJ and Precision Delta 147gr FMJ matchpack ammo.

PSA AR9, 16" barrel, Taccom 3 stage buffer system(short stroke), PSA 3.5lb match trigger, Holosun 510c, and Ultradyne lithium 9mm comp.  ETS 40 and 31rd mags. Glock 33rd mags.  No extensions at this time.

It appears that the accuracy varies between identical X5s. Perhaps due to some quality control issues.

Definitely seems to be the case. The others I have competed against here in SE Michigan all swear one ragged hole accuracy at 7 yds. I seem to be the unlucky one here. On the forums and more widespread though, there are plenty others like me. Maybe just a simple crown recut would do it? Who knows.

You mention that you are using this in Carry Optics.  What optic are you running for a dot?  Have you vetted out the optic?  Have you put irons back on it to make sure the optic is not the issue.  If you shoot irons off a bench and the accuracy is off with that little of round count I would contact Sig.  Sig is very receptive to issues and are pretty easy to contact.

I have a Level 2 match Saturday, after that I am taking the dot off to verify. It is a Sig Romeo 1 Pro. So far the only thing I have come across is 1-2 people getting the crown recut seemed to help. I know it isn't the norm for these to be inaccurate, but I was surprised to see as many others complain about it as I have.

How many rounds through the gun?  Do you have a second Legion, or X5?

Approx 3000 rds and sadly, only 1 X5 Legion. lol Accuracy has been the same from day one. I was quite shocked, but just stuck with the "good enough" mindset. As time goes on, it is really starting to bother me. Specially as I have been getting more and more long shots in my USPSA matches.

  7. I have terrible accuracy with my X5 Legion. Regardless of bullet choice. 115, 124, 147....  various power factors as well. It just does not group well for me. I can easily hold tight groups out to 20yds with any other handgun we own. In fact, I can get better groups with iron sights at 20yds with literally any other pistol, than I can at 10 with the X5. It's a bit frustrating. I used it this season in Carry Optics and went with the "good enough for USPSA" theory, but lately been getting quite a few longer shots at matches and it's really been an issue. Finally started hunting for answers/fixes and instead I found a surprisingly amount of similar stories. I have been shooting 124gr match loads for the past while, but group size has not changed between any of the ammo I have tried. Our Shadow2 will shoot any ammo accurately, regardless of bullet grain. The X5L refuses to make a tight group. Lockup seems to be good. Thought about changing the barrel out, but have also read a good target crown job has helped one person. Maybe it is time to sell and switch divisions.

  8. I came here for accuracy answers to my X5 Legion... I was a 25yd bullseye shooter and can cloverleaf groups at 7-10 with almost any handgun... Except my Legion...  easily the fastest gun I own and I use it in Carry Optics USPSA... but man does it group poorly. Sure, at 7yds it is "good enough" for USPSA, but when we start getting 20-25yd targets, it just doesn't cut it. Was hoping to find some answers, but I see it is much more common than word of mouth would let me believe. I've tried 115, 124, and 147gr bullets of various power factors. Nothing groups well. Was contemplating a barrel change. Has anyone tried that? Has anyone figured out the secret to improving the accuracy of these?
