  1. I was wondering what all the hype is around 10mm PCCs like the Kriss Vector or the CMMG Banshee. People on the internet seem to get so stoke when a manufacture release a PCC in 10mm like its the greatest thing ever and everyone’s been waiting for it. I mean wouldn’t 300 black give you superior bullistics in a similar sized platform for about the same price per round and better availability? I suppose 10mm would be easier if you’re a reloader. What is the appeal?

  2. This photo is only about 50 rounds of DG bullets. I bought 115s and 147s from them they lead up both my glock barrels and my aftermarket cut rifled barrels very fast. I feel like more than 100 round Im getting into the danger zone. It is very hard to clean out the lead. Ive shot a few hundred Blue Bullets and Precision Bullets Through my glock 34 gen 4 without cleaning with zero visible lead. Ive tried to contact DG Bullets and have got no response.

  3. I’m starting to think the leading issue is a fault in the DG bullets. I went shooting today and used my aftermarket glock 19 barrel with regular cut rifling and the same ammo leaded the heck out of the barrel also. The shot some 147Fp dg bullets as well. They leaded also bit not quite as fast. Im having no issues with blue bullet 147s and 125s out of any of my glocks. My friend is going to lend me some Precision  Bullets to try. Ill let you know how they work. Thanks for all y’all’s input.

I had the worst time with leading in my Sig 320 X5 until I found out what somebody mentioned earlier...the case swaging the bullets down when I loaded them. Bought a Lee expander die and put a NOE plug in it (don't remember the diameter right off the top of my head) and the leading stopped instantly. For the longest time I didn't think I was getting the coating process right with Hi-tek but then I learned about the swaging. It also helped that I started sizing bullets to .358 after I had coated them.  Previously, I had tried molds that were throwing bullets at .355-.356 and the case was swaging them down to .354 sometimes.

See if that expander die and plug doesn't fix it for you.

The bullets I pulled still measure .356. They are 356 bullets. Should I still get rid of my FCD?

Didn’t mean to hit reply yet.....

the FCD will swage your bullets down. My .356” bullets were .354” after I pulled them. Switched to the Dillon crimp die and all my problems went away

I’m using a lee factory crimp die. I pulled some bullets they still measured .356. I’m nearly crimping them though.

It looks like you are doing everything correctly.  Perhaps you should contact DG Bullets to see if they have a known issue with your particular lot of bullets?

HP-38 is known to burn hot.  Do you happen to have any other powder on hand to try?

Yes I tried it with sport pistol too.  Same issue. The Sport Pistol loads I loaded were a bit hotter though. I did contact DG bullets. Waiting to here back from them.
    thanks

Are you getting ALL the lead out of your barrel when starting out? A bronze brush wrapped with some copper chore boy strands will scrape it out easily. Any that’s left in the corners will just tear up the new rounds and start over again. And No, shooting jacketed Won’t magically clean it out! Main reasons for leading are, poor fit, rough bore, poor lube and too high of psi or velocity for the alloy used.

Thanks I’ll try that chore boy. I was having a real tough time trying to get that lead out.

  7. This is my barrel after shooting about 100 rounds of hi-tek coated 115 grain bullets from dg bullets. I cleaned my barrel and loaded some more and made very I sure I wasn’t scraping the coating or over crimping and I got the same results. I haven’t had an issue with Blue Bullets 125s. These are loaded with 4.5gr HP-38 going 1140 ft/s out of a G34

  8. The bullets are .356. As I stated I did start flying the cases more to about .389-.390. And i only crimp them doe to .378-.3775 There is a picture of a bullet that has been pulled. No damage to coating and the bullet still measures .356

  9. I am new to reloading. I bought some DG Hi-Tek super coat 115 grain bullets.  I loaded  them on top of 4.5gr of HP-38. About 1120 ft/s from my Glock 34.  They lead out the barrel very bad very quick in all my Glocks. I did some reading and figure I was scraping the coating during seating. So I started flaring out the cases much more and was real careful during seating and crimping.  I even trIED sport pistol powder and I pull more than a few bullets out of the batch to verify the coating wasn’t damaged and the bullet weren’t underside during the crimp. They still lead up the barrels in by G26, g19 and G34 in hurry. I have loaded some 125 and 147 grain bullets from Blue Bullets and have had no problems. What and I doing wrong.
