  1. I've been using the FART for a few years myself and am satisfied with it.  I have the larger one with the rubber lined drum and a little Vaseline on the rubber gaskets now an then and it never leaks.

I prefer using brass juice and tumble 1000 +/- at a time for 1 1/2 hour and get perfectly clean brass.

  2. I'm not sure what to post this under so I'll start here. I need to buy some 45 degree target stands and I found some at MGM but was wondering if anyone knows of anyone else that sells them just so I can shop around. If you do know of anyone it would be helpful if you could supply a link.

    Thanks.

I think the real take-away is you need to know what works in YOUR gun. My gun won't turn with a .040 in there.

That's interesting that the same model gun won't work with the same setup. I get that there can be differences in manufacturing and assembly. I have two 929s and the same setup works in both. I also have a friend that uses the same Winchester and .04 setup and works well for him.

As you said, "what works in your gun".

  4. When measuring in absolute mode you're always measuring from an original origin, in this case it would be from the front stationary jaw which is what you want.

In incremental mode the zero point "travels". So you can move the moving jaw to another spot, say 1.000" and zero it there and all measuring will come from that point. In effect, the zero point moves to another position.

You could Google absolute vs incremental measurement for more information.

  5. I just bought 2000 pieces from this person for $97 shipped. It was $80 for the brass and $17 for shipping. I believe it was $12 to ship 1000 pieces. He was quick to ship, I ordered mine on Tuesday and it's out for delivery today (Friday). He takes credit card payment over the phone and I talked to him and was great to talk to. I do recommend him. I'll give a final report when it's delivered today.

The 124gr V2 projectiles have been available/shipping almost uninterrupted since the beginning of the year... up until this week.

    Thanks for the update!

As you said, yes they were available but not in the 3600 case which is what I prefer to order. I like to make USPS earn their pay.

I could do as others suggested and go with the V1 version but the OCD in me won't let be change. No big deal, I can wait.

    I'll be watching!

  7. Bringing this thread back to life. I started using Practisim and really like it. It's a bit difficult to install and figure out how to use but well worth the time taken to figure it out. Just takes time and patience and the YouTube videos really help. I've been in contact with the developer and he has taken the time to add to the ICORE library of targets both moving and plain cardboard. It seems that it was originally and mainly developed for USPSA but as I said, the developer has been enthusiastic to include ICORE. Generating the Written Stage Briefings are really easy to use.

    Here is their website: https://www.practisimvr.com/

This is a whole library of YouTube videos on how to use it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp2OE-AlIf0&list=PLgmbHng9jBREKl-ZQj-WdjUEHMMyufONX&ab_channel=AncientSkyGames

  8. I just started shooting ICORE in 2020 and really enjoy it. I shoot a 929 in Limited Division with a gun I bought in 2021. Since I plan on traveling more to ICORE matches I decided to buy another to have as a backup.
I purchased a New/Old stock 929 and contacted S&W with the serial number and they told me it was manufactured in 2017. I was able to get my hands on it for a few minutes when it was delivered to my LGS and now waiting for the paperwork to come back from my Sheriff office to take possession of it. When I looked at it, the cylinder looked a bit different than the one I have now, almost like some type of coating on the chambers. Other than that it looked the same...as it should.
Does anyone here know if I will find any differences in one that was manufactured that far back? I realize there shouldn't be any difference in them they since they are both the same model. I wonder when they started manufacturing the the 929. I'm just curious and can't wait to get my hands on it to do a full comparison.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks.

  9. Yea, with the latest manufacturing techniques, CAD and CAM, it's easy for the manufacturers to throw in a detail or two and catch the eye of people that like fancy stuff that basically just take a little more time to finish but with more expensive machinery. For me, coming from working in that environment for many years I like it to a point. But for me...it's the colors that turn me off.

    To each their own!

  10. I had two X5 Legions, started with Grey Guns Competition trigger systems in them. I tried the SA Competition trigger system in one and liked it much better and installed one in the other too. I liked the SA system much more. I did all of the installations myself.

IS there an easy way to change the weight of the bullet? Using the phone app

Friday I tested 14 loads and 2 of them were different weights then the rest, I ended up leaving the unit on 200gr and did the math for the 230s when I got home

I remember seeing that option on the phone and setting it but can't remember exactly where and when it came up. When I get a chance I'll set it up and look for it and make a note.

Ah! I didn’t notice the plus sign on that export page! Thanks.

For some reason, I don’t see an arm button, when I create a new series.

I’ll have to check the FW version on my unit too and make sure it is the latest (and hope to update if not).

I don't even touch the unit after start it, just control it from my phone. If it's available you can't miss the Arm button on the phone, it's a long red button that says Arm or Disarm depending on which mode you're in. May be the Android version?

Labradar just released the new firmware a few months ago and I updated mine. Wasn't that difficult.

It really would be handy if Labradar would put out some instructions on the use of the app instead of users just pushing buttons to see what happens.

  13. I use the Android app and have been able to export data via an email file.

Go to Settings pick Export data.

When that page opens it says "No exported series". Up in the right hand corner pick the "+" sign and the list of series comes up.

Pick the series you want to export and it creates a zip file of it and gives you options to export. Here I choose email and it attaches it to an email.

I can also Arm and Disarm from my phone app and doing that starts another series too.

I have to say I'm pretty happy with the new version of firmware they pushed for these units but seeing they came with a new unit I doubt there'll be any future support for this model. We'll see.

  14. I've met many and I'm one myself. Just looking at something different.

I guess I'm not from the same mold as some of the cheapest revo shooters. They must have broken it somewhere along the line. Just enjoying the time I have left here. Think I'm going to stick with my 929 and Ruger Match Champion 10MM. The Ruger I can use in the new division ICORE opened up this year "Big 6". It's in the 2024 rule book that just came out.

As a side note, I was mountain biking a while back at Moab UT and stayed at a small hotel in the back of town that had a sign up in the office that said "John Wayne slept here" with his picture and autograph. I was afraid to look under the bed!

  15. Thanks all for the input!

I have an appreciation for quality German made products and don't mind paying the price in most cases but I need to see something at least a little more to make it work the extra. The YouTube reviews I see really build them up but to get this kind of feedback for what I'm intending to do with it is a big help.

  16. I've use their 124grain V2 JHP bullets and have noticed they've been out of stock for a while also. I put my email in the box where they will notify you when they are back in stock and and last week they were available for a short while. When you get the notice you need to act quick because they go fast.

Try checking with Alex Chu/@ethalider on Instagram (and evidently here, although no idea if he's active).

He runs one now and then, and also ye standard 929. I think his was some kind of promotional/sponsorship deal, so he may not be able to be totally honest, but I don't know of any other Americans who actually compete with one.

Thanks for this info, I'll look into it.

Overpriced and over rated a S&W 627 with a trigger job and if you are determined to shoot 9mm have the cylinder reamed to 9mm. All of that can be done for under $2000. If you just want to spend that kind of money I have a 627 that can change cylinders between 38 special and 38 super has a custom barrel. I can let you have for $6000. In all honesty buy a S&W unless you just want a Korth.

I take it you've been able to handle or shoot one?

    Thanks.
