Well it isn't the gas ring, it is the spring. I made a tool to remove and re-install the spring and gas ring. I remove about 3/16" off of each end of the spring, it hasn't affected the gun in anyway. This made barrel installation and removal a breeze. I contemplated making a sleeve like the one SRM makes for the FN piston to see what would happen.
For those of us that are dumb enough to take the nut off that retains that heavy spring, how do you get it back together again?

What tool did you make to do that?
