Thanks for the good advice everyone. Maybe I need to practice with an open shooter, as well as pick up a few books.

You should place higher in open you have more advantages.

Shoot it for a while and give it a chance...you will most likely get better

Don't they score differently in different classes? I also have trouble keeping the dot in the window, any advise?

I have shot handguns for 15 years. I have shot 4 IPSC matches and practice every weekend (500 rds.) I built a G35 race gun (I like shiny things) w/C-More, comp BBL, trigger, etc. I shot open class last month, and got 17th out of 26 shooters (overall). I used to place 10th-14th out of 30 or so shooters (overall) shooting limited.

Should I go back to limited, or try to get better shooting open?

I noticed a little play in my G35 slide-to-frame fit. I have seen it as an option on a few Glock tuning services. However, me with a hammer + gun, ain't gonna happen.

I have a triggerkit.com trigger. It seems good compared to the stock one. How much better of a trigger is available?

I have the new one. and i meant that i bought mine for $70 on the classifieds. It was used but works great. They are a good holster for the Glocks. You might try and find yourself a Safariland holster.

I actually picked up a billet of 6061 yesterday. I am going to spend the morning at the mill. We will see how it turns out. Thanks for all the help.

I have a ghost holster. i got it on the classifieds for $70.

If it is the old ghost holster with the pin in it, you can modify it for an open glock but if it is a newer one, the body is hollow & as soon as you start grinding away you have nothing. I guess you could fill the hollow with some kind of polymer filler but that would be a lot of work. The Cr speed is the easiest to mod to work with an open glock with a Carver mount.

Hi, I have been shooting IPSC for a few months now and I want to get into 3-gun. I purchased an FN SLP. Is there anything I need to know about this gun? I haven't been able to find accessories for this, anyone have any suggestions?
