I know a couple guys in this thread mentioned that they preordered triggers from Tooth and Nail.  Anyone get one yet??  They were supposed to ship around June 14th but I have not seen anything yet and have not been contacted with any info about when they will ship.  I have emailed them several times now asking about an update but the sales guys have ghosted me and not responded.  Doesn't make me feel very confident about the situation.  Will try to call them today I guess.

I have one and love it.  Biggest improvement over stock gun so far in my opinion.

Your set up either the gun or ammo or both is not good for standing off hand shots 🙄

Hopefully I won’t have to make too many off hand 100 yard shots!

With my lack of skill with the gun, I’m just hopeful that the scope now better sighted in, I’ll at least be able to hit the 50-80 yard gongs at the next match.

  3. Here’s a good group that I got from Thursday morning at 100 yards. Pretty pleased with it. The bottom three are the group, supported with a rest for the hand guard.

The top shot was when I was shooting standing...one of only 5 rounds that made it on the target. 97391082-4039-4441-B790-1B7F0D5F319C.jpeg.4b3118a60ef34e26e54239afef2f6372.jpeg

Did you happen to shoot any at 100 yards?   Mine stacks them at 50 like yours but isn't as impressive at 100.   I shot the  plain lead Xtreme slugs from Freedom.  Are yours copper plated or plain lead?

I’m having trouble grouping mine at 50 yards. Wondering if it’s the scope. Got an AT3 red dot on it but it’s spreading them all over the place. Ten to twelve inch groups.  May try just using the iron sights and see how that goes. Shooting Winchester slugs. Have the modified choke (which is what I plan to run it with).

And I love that new trigger from Tooth and Nail. Vast improvement.

Last one...tooth and nail have drop in triggers listed at 4-5 lbs. do you think it’s really just the jp spring kits and not so much the rest? Personally mine feels pretty smooth just heavy as hell...

Would like to hear if anything has that trigger and what their opinion was on it. The trigger on my gun is the heaviest I’ve ever pulled.

Thinking about getting that trigger and just trying it out.

Shout out to Benny Hill and  Timothy Ubl
    My VR80 runs great..
Triangle Shooting Sports for the trigger work, porting the barrel and modifying the gas system.
Taccom, LLC for the VR80 recoil system.
Anybody on the fence about this product..it flat out works.. runs 1145 fps shells smooth and fast !!!!

Tell me more about this trigger work you speak of.

  7. Had a 3 gun march today. The gun kinda struggled. The promag drum consistently jammed unfortunately. The 19 rounder did better and the 9’s did well.  Considering sending the drum back.

Beyond that, I really need to practice with slugs with the gun. Couldn’t hit gongs at 60-80 yards while standing...at all. Likely a practice issue. And the trigger pull caused some headache too.

Was running with the IC choke. Will be changing to the modified as I had trouble with a spinner and getting a stiff steel popper to fall.

Which Jp Spring did you install? It looks like there are several options on their website.

  9. Will be running my first 3gun match with it on Saturday. Pretty excited. Will be running the 20 round drum and one 19 round and then 9’s. So far haven’t had a lot of problems as long as I’m running high velocity shells.

Will have ro get that JP trigger return spring!  Would love to reduce the trigger pull.

  10. Speaking of video...I’d like to see a video of what the baseplate of a 9 round magazine that has been modified to a 10 rounder looks like.  I took one apart just to see what everyone has been talking about but would like to see exactly how much to cut off.

Ok.  I have gone through all of the posts and still have a couple questions.

#1   Sounds like all you need for a stock is the outer adjustable part.  It is my understanding that the commercial tube inside is already set up for a 6 position outer.  Is this true??

#2   What are you guys feeding these things??  Will they shoot just about anything?  Cheap Walmart Fed or Win? Or is there a particular velocity they like?

Thank you in advance.  Hope i didn't miss this info somewhere in the pages.

The regukar stock is working just fine for me (long monkey arms). I might replace it eventually, but have other priorities at this point.

I was originally frustrated by my gun not liking anything that I shot through it until I found “high velocity” rounds (1350fps) from Monarch at Academy.  They are pretty cheap ($5.50 a box) and the gun loves them. Haven’t tried anything else yet bc they work just fine.

How does one use a match saver with w mag fed shotgun. You need BHO to lock open to be able to pull that round in, but then the mag catch is still activated due to the empty mag being in there so how do you drop the bolt?

One club here runs 10 shots max .. so a 12 is simply nicer to use than a 19.

A 15 could be useful but is too close to 19 in size. 12 balances the size to having a few extra rounds just in case

I thought the same thing. If you have a magazine that doesn’t drop free, then you can disengage the mag, insert the stage saver and close the bolt.

But I want my magazine to drop free! So no stage saver for me.

    Yep thats me

Would love to know how well it would run before buying one.

My VR80 has no trouble with any of the 9 or 5 rounders I’ve tried so far (only likes Mknarch high velo shells tho). Will be trying it out with a 19 rounder I just got. That drum looks awesome but don’t want to buy and then it fail.  Guess I could try it out and just make sure that there is a good return policy.

29 rounds is a lot of weight to move around but also a lot of weight to push up a magazine. My experience with Tooth and Nail has not been good so it will be interesting to see if those actually work. :)

On another note, I have been able to get 19 round mags but no 9 rounders. Anyone have a couple extra 9 rounders they want to trade for a new 19 rounder?

    Just messaged you about this.
