  1. I hear you about politics. I can't stand them, I just like to shoot and have fun. I like going to Eugene, but seeing the turn out makes me not want to go. I don't understand what is the real cause for the low turn out. Eugene and Albany is just as far for Homie and I to drive, but Albany has a lot more shooters. I guess this why COSSA is not a popular???? Maybe it is really the distance to get there. We just can't attract new shooters???? If it is really the distance so be it. At least I can understand that, but if it is something else then hey tell COSSA's match Director or Homie. I for one will be moving out of state for a couple of years. So I will miss all of the people and clubs that I shot with and at. But I plan of coming back in 2 years or less. I hope by then all this BS can get worked out. All or Oregon's clubs are great. Sure hate to see this happen.

  2. I will be at the SS and Glock matches.

I wish we could get more shooters out to COSSA as they are in the CCS. This months IPSC match however is the same day as CCS. :(

Shot at Medford today, looks like they are going to be shooting 3rd Sundays again. Same day as Tri-county.

If it's not one thing it's another.

I can''t figure out myself why there isn't much of a turn out from the other CCS clubs members in COSSA? Maybe the drive??? I guess HoMie and I are the only one that is crazy enough to drive 2-3 hours for a match.

  3. Just bought another G17, guess why I am sending mine? SJC! John and Steave are great at answering questions and giving you information, can't wait till I have a 9x19 shooting major with 29 rounds at the buzzer.

    Hey Pete,

I guess I have to watch my back now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to see you shoot Open, bro.

  4. Got mine thru my FFL dealer back then. EAA has a great customer service rep lady. I think her name is Angela?

Do you mean Sharon? She's the ONLY person at EAA worth talking to. Paul, their gunsmith is a.... well..... if you get bored some time, give him a call and you'll see! ;)

Ooops, you are right. Sorry Sharon. She is definitely helpful.

  5. Got mine thru my FFL dealer back then. EAA has a great customer service rep lady. I think her name is Angela? I think Henning should be the man. He is very knowledgeable on these guns.

That is a real nice looking gun! I checked all over town in the last few days and it seems like these guns are next to impossible to get, what gives? I was given a 30-180 delivery period and they wanted $1680.

Henning ordered 5 I think. He had 2 sold when I placed my order. They are due in... well, now... EAA is a pain to get anything from. He has the 38super not the 9s. The 30day est is a joke. You will be lucky to get one in 50 and, most likely 90. I think he wanted $1699 for his.

Henning ordered his a couple of months ago, so you have a better chance of seeing one in short order from him. Plus he works with you and will tune it for comps. He also tunes mags.

I waited for a couple on months also for mine.

  6. The gun cost me $1400 with for mags.

Does not include the cmore, carbon fiber scope mount and thumb rest. The carbon is from Eric Graufel. I wanted to have the same look as his gun. It is not cheap!!!! But thats just me. I wanted to pimp it out..... :D

  7. In regards to the reamer, from what I understand being a polygon rifling, the standard 9mm reamers out there are to tight for this barrel. If there are any gunsmith out there that that can shine in and perhaps can perform the throating of my gun, I would like them to contact me. But at least for now my gun runs without any problems! I am happy with the 9mm, but please don't tell Henning this. The 38 super comp does have its advantages from its case design to more powder choices due to longer case.

  8. Loading long is a problem since the throat depth will not allow to chamber the longer rounds. I have tried loading to 1.17 and it wont chamber the rounds. The slide will not fully close. I tried 1.165 and sometimes it doesn't work. I finally decided to load to 1.15 and have good luck with it since. I also ask EGW to throat is longer but George said that they dont have the reamer for it??????? I wish someone here can help. I think that if I get this throated it will open up more powder selections.

The gun has a 3 hole and a small pop hole on the comp., plus has 8 total (4 per side) pop holes on the slide/barrel itself. I wish I knew how to post with pictures.

  9. I have last years model of the witness gold in the 9mm major. If you ask Henning he prefers the 38 super. I have mine working great using HS6, 125 grain JHP Zeros, loaded to 1.15 aol.

It runs great. Only draw back is that you have to make your own 170 mm mags and doing a fast reload is slightly difficult than sv/sti mags. I have the CPMI base pads and now use Grams followers and springs. It took me awhile to make everything work. But now that it works I am happy with it. This thing really shoot flat!!!!!!!!!

  10. How do i do it? It's so gunked up with lead it jams like crazy!

I have never taken it apart. Thanks guys. I know someone knows here or can point me in the right direction.

Get rid of it and buy a new one. :D

You going to Norco with us?

  11. That is exactly why I bought it. It is a great price. Once Henning gets the 170 mags or base pads, it will be a nice alternative option to STI/SV. Only draw back in using a 9mm, are the magazines(only for now). With the cpmi base pads I am only able to load 22 rounds using the stock follower/spring, cause the Grams followers works best only in 38 super. Although I was told that maybe it has to do with my load? I will test this out Friday.

I am also working on my welded 170 mm mags. So far I am only able to use the stock follower with wolf extra power springs that only allows 26-27 rounds. I guess 27 is better than nothing??? With Grams, if I can get it to work, it will allow me to load 29. I am going to test a Grams set up this Friday.

  12. EAA/Tanfoglio is an option if cost is a concern. I got mine for $1400 in 9mm major plus 4 mags, not including the scope and mounts. Only drawback are the 170mm mags. There are none until Henning gets them. Go and talk to Henning. He can set you up.

  13. I had a gun in 38 super. Had it changed to 9mm. All I did was have a new barrel fit to existing comp & slide. I'd do it again.

Here is the thing. If you shoot a lot like some do for Steel Challenge, then you can load up 5K at a time for only $ 100 worth of brass instead of $ 500+ or shoot, pick-up, reload the same 1K over and over.

My steel gun is 9mm so my USPSA open gun is 9mm. Makes press set up easy. Heck, my limited / IDPA ESP gun is 9mm.

    Did that help ?

I agree. I switch from 38 super to a 9mm when my gun was less than a year old. I found out each match I would lose half of my brass. Given the amount I decided to go and shoot, it became very expensive. Now the best part of shooting 9mm is I dont pick up brass anymore even when practicing.

  14. Got my 170mm mags that I sent off to the welder. It works great with the stock follower and spring but can't get the Grams set up to work. I am using it for 9mm. Check with Henning and he has not tried it at all in 9mm. Can anyone offer advice?

  15. got my 170 mm mags that I had welded back. It works okay. I mean it works great with the stock follower and spring but cant seem to get the Grams set up to work. I talk with Henning and he mentioned that he has not tried it in a 9mm. Can anyone offer advice?
