yes 9mm getting the last one in is
tight but it gets in. I'm not clear what that little hex bolt is supposed to do? tighten it down when the mag is on? or back it out? I don't get it
Yeah, getting the 20th round in mine is a chore sometimes.
It is a retention screw (of sorts).
They are too short in my opinion, I have deformed some of them dropping mags on a hard surface, while they were backed out a bit too far. So I bought some new ones at Home Depot that are twice as long and they work much better.

just put a couple of these on my M&P mags today
and I can get 23 rounds into them right off the bat.
Are you running 9mm..?
I run them with 40 major, so they top out at 20 rounds.

I use Springer Precision, I've tried several and found that SP were the best in my experience.

The SJC brass magwell is great, I have it only limited build and love it.

That's all kinds of sweet.
I've been thinking about doing something similar, but right now I am putting the final touches on my .40 Limited build.
I should be running it later this year.

I've never understood the need for an extended mag release, but then I have large hands.
The mag release and slide drop "just happens" subconsciously for me kind of like hitting the blinker when driving I guess.
But hey, whatever works best.

Check your grip and make sure you're not riding the slide stop/release with your thumb. It's a very easy thing to do during a course of fire. The thumb can migrait a little without notice.
I had this issue with the same gun and all other XD / XDm series pistols.
I sold the XDs and bought an M&P shield 9mm, problem solved.

Bob Vogel's video about "the grip" on you tube changed my life.
I knew to grip the gun firmly but didn't know about torqueing my hands inward into the frame.
My speed and accuracy has increased exponentially ever since.

I've heard about this forum for a while and I finally decided to give it a go.

I stick with a 250 round session twice per week.
I feel like it gives me time to absorb the gains I made in the previous session and week.
If I could afford 500 rounds twice per week I would do it.
I am going to build a private range on some property I plan to buy next year and will see how 200 rounds a day three days a week goes with dry fire on the two "off" days. I think handling the gun more frequently will be more beneficial than if I were to do a single 600 round session.
