I THINK I know what you are experiencing. When I use my special prescription, and just relax and keep both eyes open, my sight alignment and picture goes haywire because my brain is focusing right eye on the front sight, and left eye on the target--it doesn't know where to settle, and with the two different prescriptions for each eye, they are ping ponging back and forth trying to pick one or the other. So, at the range, just bench shooting, I wear the glasses for about 5-10 minutes before I shoot, load some magazines, just go about my business so I forget I'm wearing a funky prescription set. When I shoot, I admit I squint just a bit, not hard, to get my brain to think right eye. the left eye is open just enough to give me a picture of the bullseye. I shoot fine.
In run and gun (USPSA), my brain doesn't get fooled at all. I am wearing these glasses the minute I leave the car, and by the time I'm shooting, it's almost like I have perfect 20/20 again. It has finally started working so well I'll have a special set of prescription shooting glasses made (the set I have are "fashion" framed).

I don't know if this helps but here goes. I am nearsighted and 60 years old. Trying to shoot iron sights on my rifles and pistols has become more difficult time because of the front sight focus/target blurry mantra. So, I tried a new prescription where my right eye, my dominant eye, is focused on the front sight post. But my open left eye is corrected for nearsightedness. When I first put the glasses on it takes a minute for my brain to absorb what's going on but it does clear up and as long as I shoot both eyes open perhaps squinting my right eye I do quite well. YMMV.

What Cz Custom mount are you referring to? Thanks...I assume you are asking about guns with slides cut for optics. Those that come to mind are the Glock MOS, S&W M&P CORE, Walther Q5, Canik TP9SFx, Springfield XD OSP, Sig 320 X5. Many others have optic mounts that fit in the rear sight dovetail. Makers of those mounts are Springer Precision, EGW, CZ Custom, and others. You'd have to check the mount makers to see what guns they have mounts for. And, you can have various guns' slides milled to accept a red dot. CZ Custom has a very cool looking mounting plate system, so you can change the dot, and even go back to a fixed rear sight.

I just had a special prescription made with my right dominant eye focused on the front sight, and my left eye focused on distance aka the target. I try this out next week. Iron sights have been a problem for about a year as my eyesight deteriorated just enough that accuracy became compromised. I am 60 and only expect this to get worse with time. So far, red dots still work well with my normal nearsighted prescription, and magnifying optics with clear shooting glasses...

Just fyi, this is a problem with OEM Colt 9mm rifles too. I have an older 1995 era Colt 6450 and new 6951, and closed bolt loads are much easier when subtracting two rounds from max capacity on the 32s and 20s. I am doing a build with a CMMG lower so it will be interesting to see how that behaves...

What loads do you shoot steel versus USPSA?

I watched through this and a few more. In general, as a freshly minted USPSA member, more supportive video in situ would have been valuable. I am going to use a triple taco from hsgi, since thats what i have now, but i can see the benefit the rig would have if Colt magazines fit. Watching someone talk on a screen for more than a minute without cutting away to actual or demo footage was a bit frustrating. BUT, I did walk away with good info, so keep them coming!Just wanted to share my thoughts/opinions on what I've had success with respective to belt/magazines/pouches etc. for PCC. Hope you enjoy it/find it helpful. This is generally directed at USPSA, but I do touch on how I modify my loadout just slightly to play in outlaw matches.

Recommendation for a 9mm PCC

Regarding FACTORY loads for PCCs: Last weekend I ran a CZ Scorpion 9mm in an "outlaw" falling Steel match, and earlier today a sanctioned Tier 1 match using a Colt 6921 9mm. I didn't expect to do well--I didn't--but I had fun and got a taste of both unsanctioned and sanctioned matches. I have a mix of 9mm in my stash: 115, 124 and 147g, the latter defensive rounds used in my pistols. The 147 defense loads do NOT cycle well in either rifle.
I understand the Colt and CZ rifle is probably not considered optimal for Steel Challenge or USPSA for that matter, but it's what I own and what I'll be using for the time being (I'm retired and need to plan withdrawals monthly for 'mad money').
Does the 115g recommendation apply for factory loads as well? One of the fellas running great times mentioned 90g frangible loads but with the difficulty buying anything I'm likely going to have to stick with what I have in my closet for the next 6 months or so.
