  1. I was having a similar problem. Random stove pipe failures using the same loads I had run for a long time. I sent it to Glock and it was returned in about a week. No problems since then. I did have to rework the trigger, it was returned to factory specifications.

That sounds good. When I talked to them on the phone, they said it would take between 2-4 weeks for a return. I was surprised to see it shipped today after only 1 week. Any idea on what they problem was? Or did they just send you a working gun?

  2. So I shipped my 34 back to Glock last week on Thursday and they received it on Friday. I did not receive any email or phone call saying that they received or that they started working on my gun. I just got a FedEx tracking number via email today at 5 and I still have not heard anything back from Glock Inc. I don't know what they did or did not do. Kind of frustrating. I guess we will see what happens on Friday when I get it back.

  3. If your worried about a hairline crack get a magnetic partical inspection  most good wielding shops can do it, it's a red powder that has a bunch of iron dust in it, they hit it with an electromagnetic and it pulls thr powder into cracks to make them visable. It's non destructive and cheep to do. (That's how welders check for cracks in there wields.)

It leaves a little red line if there is a crack or the nothing if there's not.

I never thought about that. I would find a local place to give it a try. I sent pictures of the barrel to Glock and they said it would be a good idea to send it into them. With my next major in about a month, I'll cross my fingers and send it to them. I hear they are good about warranty work so we will see what they say. I'll keep everyone updated when I know what they say.

  4. Unfortunately, I cannot find a steel challenge anywhere in metro Detroit. But I did take my S&W Victory to USPSA practice and put up a bunch of steel. Just messing around and I thought it was really nice. It is all stock and I could not be happier with it. Maybe one day I'll mess around with it and get a new barrel.

  5. I have the same issue with my 34 MOS. I have a reduced recoil spring and still get this issue. seems to be a common issue. When I called Glock they told me that I would have to send the gun in and with majors coming up, I don't really can't afford to have the gun gone that long. faa1cabcc6604bb30bcf8384163952f6.jpg

  6. The best thing to do if you are shooting production or carry optics IMO is to buy a spring kit, new connector, and then polish all the factory parts. Including the safety plunger. Basically anything that moves as a result of pulling the trigger.

  7. And they also say that their semi fit shoild
drop in 7 out of 10 guns. I've tried mine in 3 different glocks and it's not even close. They said it'd take 10 weeks to fit.  So, probably gonna sell this "semi" fit barrel.

Also, the dang chamber on this barrel is shorter than all my CZ barrels. And thats saying something.

So, unless you want to be without your gun for 10 weeks, you're gonna have to go with something else. Unless you feel comfortable fitting it yourself. Which I don't.

I wouldn't be to worried about the fitting part. I have a couple of good smiths in the area that could probably get it done in a short amount of time. I have never tried to fit a barrel myself. Don't really trust myself to fit one either. But I simply cannot wait 2 months for a new barrel and will just have to find something else.

  8. I used to get this now and again until I made sure my press and bench where as solidly mounted and stable as possible.  My guess is your case feeder is moving and swaying causing this.  Ensure your bench is rock solid and as little movement as possible.

I bet it goes away without the insert.  I think Dillon will tell you they have two different case feeder designs.  One is the old style that may require the insert and the newer one that does not.  I have the new one and after securing the bench, my problems went away.  Going on 20,000 loadings now.  (I keep track of these things [emoji3])

Sounds good. Thanks for the info. I thought my bench was pretty secure but I will have to re-evaluation that. Going to try to use the press tonight so I'll follow up on this.

  9. I am just wondering if anyone is having the same issues I have in regards to the case feeder. While loading 9mm I tend to get a case try to go down the feed tube sideways. This causes the funnel to fill up at the top until a get hit in the head with a case and then turn it off to clear the jam. I have been told to slide out the metal tab and it will prevent this from happening but I can't seem to get it to work right.

  10. I am pretty happy with my Glock trigger. The only thing I did was change the springs with a zev spring kit with a connector and I polished all contact points. So for $35 and a little bit of elbow grease, it made quite a big difference. I do not have a trigger pull gauge but I would say it's at about 3.00#.

  11. Yeah and don't forget velocity is a function of air temperature, humidty, and barometric pressure. What you chrono at 100 degrees in Florida at 90% humidity at sea level will not be the same in Colorado at 6000 feet 40 degrees and 15% humidity.

I saw this when I went to optics nationals. I shoot 133 PF in Michigan (50 degrees 800ft above sea level) and when I went to the match I dropped 2 PF (80+ degrees 100ft above sea level). I personally thought my PF would have been higher in Florida. But Someone once told me that TG goes slower at warmer temps. Not sure how accurate that is though. Last years Michigan sectional I shot a the same PF the test before the match. So the change in the geographical area may have made a difference.

  12. I like my model B but I recently switched from city water to well water and I can't get the brass to shine like I did with the city water. The brass almost looks burnt once I get it dry. I am using a food dehydrators to dry the brass. Before the dehydrator I was using the oven to dry the brass. Since then, I just wait until I have a lot of of brass (10 gallons or so) and rent a cement mixer and clean it all in a day. I actually like the cement mixer better because I can get a lot done in a short amount of time.
