  1. For what it's worth, I have a 5 MOA SRO.  It doesn't seem overly large at all. You can turn the intensity down a bit, and still have a very distinct, clear dot.

The RMR had failures initially, too. They just fixed them rather quickly in a way that CMore and Leupold have taken their sweet, sweet time to do. So they gained a solid rep for being durable.

I guess that's what really surprised me.  After all, it seems like this isn't brand new technology for Trijicon. Only real change seems to be the window size. All other things being equal, I would have expected the parts that are more or less direct carryovers from the RMR to function as well as they do on current generation RMR's.

Whatever the problems may be, I'm confident that Trijicon will remedy them.  I love the sight itself, and will buy a couple more if they prove reliable. Hopefully these first few failures are arberrations.

  3. I was really surprised at the apparent failure rate. My RMR's have been tanks, but I hate the small window.

I really like the sight itself. With the bottom of the window actually levlel with the rear of the housing, the entire window can be seen. The rear housing on the RMR is actually taller than the bottom of the window, so it partially obscures an already small window.

i hope to get at least a few hundred rounds on it in the next few days to see how it holds up.

You got me curious... and I see that a picatinny mount is an additional $80.  Jeez...  I might be more interested if it just had a plain jane 8moa round dot versus a triangle that may or may not be sharp to my old eyes.  Think I'll be sticking with the RTS2.

A quick Google search shows the American Defense AD-TR quick release mount available for $67 on Amazon. Still may not be cheap, but with this level of equipment, what really is?

  5. FYI, For anyone looking to buy a DP Pro, Optics Planet is running a 10% off sale right now. Cuts the price down to $360 shipped. Sale ends tomorrow, 3/7.

After reading a couple of really informative threads here, and some separate research, I bought two for good measure!

Now, time to start looking at mounts!

  6. I've tried a search, but with limited results.

I'm looking for a Steel Challenge/Lite load. Preferably with Prima V, as I have 11 pounds sitting on my shelf.  Other powder options include VVN320, and N310. Bullets on hand are MG 115 and 124 grain JHP's.

I will mostly  be shooting them thru an SVI Infinity 38 Super, with .355 6" Scheumann Tribrid II barrel, with 6 ports, no comp.  I know I won't get much effect from the ports. I'm just looking for a really soft shooting/accurate load.  From what I've found, mostly 9mm Prima V load data, I'm thinking somewhere in the 4.0 grains area?

Thanks in in advance for any help.

  7. Anyone know if this new version has the same footprint as the older J-Point/Optima 2000?  I recently came into possession of an older (2000) SVI Infinity that has an Optima 2000 milled into the rear of the slide. It would be nice to pick up an updated  replacement in case the current sight goes belly up.

Never mind. Just checked their website. Looks like it's the same size.
