  1. Thought I would post this in case anyone was looking into either of these options. I just added the CZUB magwell and thin aluminum grips as well as the SAO tacsport style trigger. Here are the before and after pics so you can see the difference in trigger position. I'm using this gun for steel challenge and IDPA ESP. I never use the DA, so this will suit me better. I like the trigger reach and feel much better now. It started as an SP-01 shadow custom from CZ Custom. I bought the magwell, grips and trigger from Armory Craft. I had to change the base plate on my magazines to fit the magwell, on the stock 19 round mags I could just trim the stock plastic, but changing them is easier. The IDPA thin one from CZC works fine, I have 2 more coming from Springer I need to test, especially for the 17 round mecgar mags.y4mXUewRWwfVRpQtdWWzOIML4AS4lgg8x4MjJ0dgy4m4RIrIOFzbDM9ml4Pe0kGI1gIpiLpSyD7t4GNz

I am running an accushadow with an aluminum magwell  and grips from Armory Craft.  It makes weight and fits in the box.

I just ordered this magwell/grip setup and going to a SAO trigger. I have 18 round SP01 mags and 17 round Mecgars, what base plates have you found to work with this magwell?

Maybe not the place to comment but MidwayUSA has some pretty good deals on the Oakley Tombstone Reap w/tr22 or black iridium lenses for just over 50$. They are advertising as a one time clearance deal. Figured other BE members might want to take advantage

I was going to get Rudy Projects ad that's what i used for cycling, but that deal at midway was too good for me to pass up.

I like eyeshield styles personally for any sport. More real estate for field of view.

Thanks for the tip, just ordered myself a pair. They have both Black Iridium and TR22 in stock. I ordered the TR22, figured I'll give them a try.

  4. Mine has not been 100%, I've suffered feed issues that I think I finally have licked. I do like the gun though, even though it took some time to sort out. I put a lighter recoil spring in and shoot .40 lite loads for steel challenge, crazy fun. To solve the feed issues I ended up replacing and tuning the extractor, adjusting the barrel link and modifying the feed ramp.

  5. Anyone have a case gauge recommendation for the TS? I just picked up a TSO, most of my .40 loads are on the long side to work better in my Para. I'll have to come up with a new load for the TS. I realize I can use my barrel, just looking to see if there is a preference on the 100 round chamber checkers that matches these guns well. $100 for a Shockbottle or BS Hundo would kind of suck if it doesn't work well. Or maybe the 20 round DAA?

I wrote Cz custom with the same question about the buffer. Was told that you do not have to use them, but personally I am going to use the thickest one that does not cause any issues, makes things a bit easier on the gun and you may or may not prefer the recoil feel.

I think you can squeeze the springs and feel different stiffness between them, do not have the gun with me right now or I would verify.

Thanks, I didn't even get a chance to take them out of the bag, they looked identical though. I'll look more closely tonight. I'll shoot with and without the shock buffer and see how much I like it and if it causes any issues.

  7. Picked mine up today, also got an extra mag with the CZ Custom extension. Excellent service again from CZ Custom.

I really like how this gun feels, can't wait to get to the range. Just ordered a holster from RHT.

Mine had a shock buff installed, Am I correct that most take those out? I've never used them in any gun.

It came with several extra recoil springs, they look the same as the one installed. Are they just spares or is one supposed to be lighter? Anyone shoot .40 minor ammo in their TS?

    Thank you,

  8. I guess my enthusiasm for the TS ORANGE from Impact Guns was premature. They don't actually have one, quite disappointing in their process and communication. They sent me an email saying they had one, which then sent me to a purchase order. Then they told me on the phone they just needed to get one from their warehouse and ship it. Well, called again today since I didn't get a shipping notification after 2 weeks to find out they don't actually have one. So I cancelled my "order".

Good news though, CZ Custom did have one and it's headed my way. FED EX tracking number within an hour of talking to Stuart. Much better customer service. Can't wait to shoot it, should have it on Wednesday.

  9. Just got an email from one of the gun shops that I was on a waiting list for one of these, couldn't resist and purchased it. Should get it in a week or so. They said they got 10 in, I got the third one, this is from Impact Guns in Utah. Very reasonable price. Now I just need a holster, probably RHT, and a few more mags.

  10. I bought a throat reamer from Brownells and reamed by CZ, my M&P Apex barrel and my RIA 1911. Now I can load them all the same. It didn't change accuracy a bit, but makes them much more tolerant for feeding. I don't notice any change in accuracy when I use my shorter loads in them either. My RIA need longer rounds for reliable feeding and my Apex was actually the shortest throat of all of them. I was getting tired of trying to keep track of which of my loads worked in which guns. Now all my 9mms take all my reloads and I'm much less likely to have a feeding issue if I change bullets to a new profile or something.

Man, I can't wait to get mine. I put myself on a waiting list in June and they told me I could opt out if I wanted. I was on the fence between waiting for this to come through or getting a double stack Rock Island. Then I got a call that my card got charged and the Orange was on its way. So decision made I guess. Hope it's worth triple the cost of the RI. I'm pretty new to guns in general and have only owned Glocks. Hopefully it will get me excited about pistols.

Who are you getting yours from? I put myself on a couple of lists, but haven't heard anything yet. I'm just curious who is getting them in.

  12. I have the SDI installed. I also had barrel springing causing it to not go into battery, had to remove some material from the front of the barrel. After I got that sorted out, mine had a very tight/short throat, so it would not work with some of my reloads that my other guns like. I was having to seat my bullets very deep to get them to work. I bought a throating reamer and fixed that. Now I can use all the bullets I like to use at the same OAL as my other guns. (My CZ SP01 Shadow was also pretty short, not as short as the APEX, but I've now reamed all my barrels to give me more flexibility). BTW, the stock M&P barrel would take any bullet. Overall though, I'm happy, accuracy is much better and I like fiddling with stuff anyway.

  13. I use a lot of Sellier and Bellot, mostly because I can get them for a little over $20/1000 when they go on sale, normally like $24/1000. I have had good luck with them. I like the CCIs as well. I use some federals for my revolver that has a light hammer spring, but I hate the huge boxes, just bugs me. Mostly use the Selliers for my 9mm and .40.

  14. Ooh, has anyone chronographed the Apex and compared it with the stocker (same ammo)? I'm curious if it's faster or slower. I can probably get to it next week...

I did last weekend. The Apex barrel was 50 - 75 fps faster than stock. I was shooting 124 gr. Everglades plated bullets, 5.3 gr. Power Pistol loaded to 1.130 OAL.

Apex Barrel was 1100 - 1140 fps, with an average of 1116 for 5 shots. The stock barrel had an average of 1050 fps.

  15. Ahh, thanks for the clarification. I just keep hearing people say the SP-01 Shadow is not allowed in ESP and keep wondering why not.
