  1. Wow this is an ancient thread.  I was window shopping on the internet and I think a conversion kit would be fantastic for me. Where I shoot, the 22lr is on the house for varmint control, so the kit would pay for itself in no time.  The problem is I don't have anything to convert.  They don't make them for revolvers.   Any suggestions or cautions on a LEFTY friendly, 9mm platform and a solid 22lr conversion kit?   I realize there are several,  I'm just looking for a few quick model and kit combos that work or,  even better,  a list of the ones that don't work.

    Thanks

You can look into a Glock conversion. Glock Store sells completed Glock frames for around 200 and the Advantage Arms conversions are right around 300 last I checked. The other option is the full size .22 versions of the Beretta or PPQ they are usually under 400.

  2. I want to shoot IDPA Bug, with my Shield, as I carry it.   IWB at 4 o'clock with an untucked tshirt hanging over it.   I'd like to shoot IDPA and I am looking for mag pouches.   I'd like an IWB pouch that is also under my hang down shirt.

What does the M&P brain trust recommend?

    Here are some I've found:

These might work.   I'm concerned about soft construction.

I have an owb dual mag pouch that I'm not using. I carried it with my shield and it stayed very concealed. PM if you are interested.

  3. FYI, you can't shoot a 1911 in Production. You'll still be able to get a sense of how you shot compared to each other in the combined results. Or you could both shoot in L10, Limited, or Open as both guns would be legal in those divisions.

Yeah I found that out shortly after posting. He will shoot single stack and I’m going to shoot production. If we like it he will probably stay in single stack and I will probably do limited and single stack, because I’m ADD that way.

  4. Thanks for the reply’s. I wasn’t sure if it would bump me into open or not the wording is a little weird to me. I will just put the other barrel in since the other 19 doesn’t have the sights I like on it.

I will give thought to shooting limited in the future right now the goal is to shoot with my father and see if this is something we want to do, since he has a 1911 we are going to try production and compete against each other in a local match then go from there.

  5. Is anyone or has anyone used this for USPSA? I'm going to my first USPSA match next month and this is the gun I'm best set up to use. I do have another 19 that is not a "c" model that I can switch barrels with if need be but I rather not if at all possible.

  6. Shield most of time here in the hot/humid south east. But I have 8 in the gun with two 8 round reloads. Now I'm carrying a colt commander with 10 in the gun and two 9 round reloads and if I decide to go a little bigger I will carry my P07 with 16 in the gun with one 15 round reload.

The way I look at spare mags is it's cheap insurance. Mr. Murphy is always around the corner, and if I have to tap rack bang or ditch a mag due to a double feed I want another mag with me.

  7. Is the Wilson IDPA SSP package legal for USPA and will they do it on a plain M9? I see they will do it on the M9A1 but not the M9.

  8. Welcome aboard, from Central Florida.

Lots of good USPSA matches around:

    Frostproof

Central Florida near the Orlando airport

    Volusia

Depends on exactly where you are and how far you're willing to travel.

When I was younger  I used to find at least one match each weekend. [emoji144]

    Whatja shootin'?

I live in the Clermont area currently so I have been to Volusia often, that's where I went for most of my matches. As for what I will be shooting I'm not sure yet. I used to shoot a 1911 in IDPA and can still go that route but I'm looking to go the 9mm route in which case my option for that is my Beretta M9.

  9. Hi I'm new here but not to competition shooting. I shot IDPA several years back for a while and got in to USCA for a bit. Looking to learn more and get back into the game so to speak. I'm looking hard at trying my hand in USPSA in the next few weeks so any and all information is welcome.
