I got some S&B primers for $20 last week.
They're normal price is $25.
I've only loaded up about 300 but think I like them.
To me, they seem to seat easier than federals.
They've all went off, even with my reduced striker spring in my G34.
I'll probably buy more.
Federals are never in stock and everything else is $30+.
Ive loaded about 2,000 S&B's and had one fail to fire. Went back and looked and the primer was set too high. Thats the only issue Ive come across

Thanks for the encouragement. I've seen you all over this board and have read some of your diary.
Have my first match in two months tomorrow. We'll see if the training has paid off.
How'd it go?

I have both Gemini and Tech. I ususally end up wearing the Tech

Introduction time. Name is Chris and live in southern central Kansas. Hutchinson to be exact Just getting into the 3-gun life. Right now acquiring/ researching belts and gear. while there is not a lot of info out there for my area, I do meet people often that are interested in 3-gun and think they would enjoy the game also. The past few days I've been browsing the Enos forums and it seems like a great forum so I joined today.
Have a good one ladies and gents.
Welcome. I grew up in the Great Bend area.

Maybe it has to do with a change in leadership at S&W. If the powers that be aren't/weren't as interested in the event as the previous persons, that could explain the drop.
Good chance of it. Anytime someone new comes in they have an agenda and want to impress the bean counters

My understanding (or belief) is that Federal was using all of them in the production of their own ammo so there wasn't enough production for the sale of primers as a component.
Gotcha. Thanks for the info

IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT, Dillon is 10 times the quality of any LEE machine.
If you are never going to load rifle I would recommend the Dillon SDB. If you even think you might do rifle someday I recommend the 550
Agreed. I recently turnd Blue over Red a month ago. A Loadmaster was in my house and I got so tired of needing to tinker with it to keep it running right. Buy once cry once as I sold the LM for probably half what I had in it.
Kudos to you for breaking down the finances like you did

Why have they dried up, just because they're a little lighter to ignite and thats a hot commodity?

Man, that thing looks gnarly

Got bumped from production to open.
Second to last stage, it was a start unloaded stage.
Opps, never dawned on me, I always have my first mag loaded to 11.
RO asked how many I started with, went bad from there.

Why did you get bumped?

Awesome. He's thinking, "He better pick that brass up"

And watch out for the adrenalin dump after you shoot your first stage. Follow the ro's commands

This is a great point. Alot of guys rush showing clear and fumble or drop their mag on the ground. Then they bend down and try to pick it up while muzzling everything in sight

Agree with the above posts. Biggest thing with a first match is be safe, observe the good guys, and have fun

I just bought a 650 a month ago. Best money Ive ever spent. Ever. Limited and multigun shooter here
-
Sorry to hear that. Good luck to you

If its not returnable I wouldnt issue a refund.

I was in the same boat. It took me a long time, probably months, to tranfer it to matches from dry fire. Im working on keeping them open when targets are close together. Sometimes I get double vision, but I know I have to fight through it and focus on the sight

I used to work weekends, but was occasionally able to get someone
to "fill in" for me for a few hours, and then worked with the RO to
zip thru the match
Nice. I have interviewed for a new position in my company that will give me a few extra weekends.

The tech shirt was given to me, but I remember the Gemini costing around $120-140
