  1. You want to shoot hi-velocity ammo so you have enough gas pressure/volume for the comp to work. With SV ammo it will just be a barrel weight.

Thanks, will take him out again in a few days and try the MM I have

  2. I have some older 147 reloads from them that are always good and also just purchased the 115jhp they had on special a few weeks ago.

I like the recoil from the 147 and the 115jhp are nice and accurate. I do want to purchase some Elite but haven't decided myself yet. Still working on going through the hoards of it I already own

  3. Most of the people shooting Ruger pistols use ammo going between 1200fps and 1265fps. The reason is availability and cost. That being said, my buddies Ruger works fine with CCI-SV and so does all the Ruger piatols used for bullseye.

My recommendation to you is to use MiniMag 40gr solids to make the comp work. If you cannot find those, try the MM 36HP. You next recourse would be any copper flashed round that works in your gun. If you shoot lead bullets, you comp will clog up in no time. The faster the lead bullet, the more rapid the clogging.

If you want to use CCI-SV because you already have some, take the comp off and shoot.

Thank you, I will look at my stash and try a few different ones. but will focus on having the copper flashed for the compensator.

  4. I love my Short and Smart, not sure if I will ever shoot my Black and White. Its just so beautiful and feels great in the hand.

  5. both of my kids starting shooting 22's at about 8. I just got my son a ruger 22/45 lite and his first holster and belt. we have begun the training . and before he does any drawing and shooting it will be a lot of dry fire. He may not like it but it will be that way.

For now it has always been low and ready

  6. I tend to do this with the first couple of mags when I haven't been shooting in a while. I am also a very flinch person when I get to the indoor range. I double plug and still jump the first few times I hear the guns go off around me.

It bugs the crap out of me, but I can't do anything about it. Once I start firing I am ok, but its always the first little bit till I get warmed up to it.
