  1.  I do like Wideload, sort them and give the  away.  I didn't know there was a small primer 45 case until I jammed one in my 650 when I started reloading!

Does anybody know WHY they make the 45ACP in both primer sizes?  Seems kinda odd to me...

  2. A couple nights ago while loading up some 45acp for an upcoming class I had the little spring clip on top of the sizing/depriming die break.  I 'borrowed' one from my 9mm toolhead to get though this session.  I have emailed Dillon for info on the part as I cannot find it on their website.  My question is mainly what do you think caused this?  Is it a standard wear and tear issue, as I load about 500 rounds a month.  Or am I doing something wrong, have something set wrong to accelerate said wear and tear?  Only been in the reloading game a couple of years, but I have never heard of this happening nor has anybody in my IDPA club.  Thanks for any help!

  3. Welcome to Idaho!!!  Hope the move goes well!  I am in North Idaho, but shoot somewhat regularly in Parma, and have shot one match in Idaho Falls.  All great places to shoot!  Let us know when you get here!

  4. I really like the Riots by Derwood MFG. Taylor is the man there and he does a great job on G10 grips. I have several sets from them. I am unable to load a pic for some reason, but check out his website... www.derwoodmfg.com

I'm betting nothing is as grippy as 36 Grit! But a training buddy of mine said of my first pair of Riots, 'you can hang on to that with a bloody hand'. Perhaps a bit over the top, like my friend, but you get his point!

  5. I agree, and was thinking about a clarification submission. This was my first match outside of my local club. It was the first outdoor match i'd shot in 30 years!!! What a blast! Great club, great guys and great facility! Immediately after our discussion I thought that this is something I should remember and ask the SO or MD before shooting the stage. I am by no means knocking the rulebook and totally understand that somethings are open to club interpretation... I was more than willing to accept the PE, but after we discussed it the SO decided to lift it.

Jim, your first sentence is exactly how I understand it. Apparently our local club guys see it that way too, as I have never been called on it before.

  6. 2) But for the next string where you shoot, then move to the barrel: get the new mag, drop the old into the hand and stick the new one in, start moving and while moving get the old mag into a pocket. This will save time, yes?

This is what I do at our local club. However, yesterday I shot a match at another club and was given a procedural for moving before my mag was stowed. After we discussed it they lifted the procedural. Now I have looked thru the rulebook and do not find any real clear answers... I feel this is the fastest way to do this part of the classifier though.
