I learned quickly that chatting it up is not the best thing for me. When I am about three spots away I shut it all out and start breathing deeply and thinking it all through. If I have ran through it all in my head prior and am comfortable then all I worry about is the draw and instincts and muscle memory kick in from there. For some reason after about 7 months it all started clicking. Now to just actually work on speed, etc.
During my first match my friend said the same thing, I did pasting right before I shot and he started noticing that and told me probably within two shooters I should just get in the zone and hang back. I found out I was much more comfortable when I just stayed back behind the stage before it was my time to shoot.

Hey guys, just shot my first USPSA match over the weekend up in Romulus, MI and already can't wait to shoot more matches come next year.
I reside in Columbus, OH so if anyone has any info on where to shoot let me know, only one I'm aware of is PCSI for USPSA.

Only shot one match as of now but I can agree, everyone was welcoming and went out of their way to help anyone.
