  1. I just shot with the guys from Phoenix trinity and they make some bad ass metal grips. The fell of the gun in your hand is total different. I would say if I get another gun built, it will have their heavy texture stainless grip.

  2. Hello: The STI Edge has a full length dust cover. You just have to pick the correct Blade Tech holster for your pistol. I use a 6" Blade Tech for a full length dust cover for my STI pistols that are like the 5" Eagle, 5" Edge, 6" pistols. With tension knobs on the screws you can get the tension just right. Thanks, Eric

They end up being .6 inches too long then. I assume that is why they are different.

  3. 17L is a gen 3 only and everything is the same as gen 3 17 except barrel and slide. Slide is supposed to be the same weight/close to same weight as a 17. Internally it is killed some and the opening in the top of the slide is big.

  4. I am going to start shooting my dvc limited in 3 gun and wondered what everyone uses for holsters. I have blade tech for my 34, custom kydex local made for 17L. I was looking at the safari land 014 but some people told me that they might not be the best for 3 gun. I know safari land has some locking holsters but not sure which one works for the dvc.

  5. I couldn't get used to the draw. I started with a 17 and moved to a 34. The only thing noticeable was the increases sight radius. I tried to move to a 17L but the only thing I noticed was how much further I had to lift the gun to clear the holster. If I were using a pure race holster the 17L might be worth it but out of a retention holster, the 34 is a better choice for me.

I have a custom drop leg holster for my 17L. It's a few inches lower on my belt. Helps a lot.

  6. . I need to figure it out before rock castle

+1. Don't go to a match before you have Thoroughly Tested

your actual ammo in your actual gun with your actual

springs. Or, you might be unpleasantly surprised at

    the match.

I loaded up some .45 ammo, tested it in both my .45's, went to a match

and it wouldn't feed (couldn't chamber a few of the rounds at COF #1).

    Went home.

Been using the same ammo ever since, and it works perfectly, before

and after the match - have no idea what happened to this day. :(

Best advice for anything like this. I changed from Winchester shotgun shells to federal and the federal would double feed out of the tube. Didn't know it till I was at the match. To say I was upset is an understatement!

  7. There are pistol qualifier stages and if the stage is pistol/shotgun heavy it is easy to make up time if ur pistol quick. Depends on region and stage setup.

  8. I have gone from the Bladetech WRS to the Safariland ALS to my current setup which is the NERD coffin holster. I love the NERD holster compared to the others. I never could get the ALS to perform how I wanted it to and the WRS was slow compared to the ALS and the NERD.

I wish they made the nerd in something other than black.
