Thought I would give an update to my issue with the Impact Machine Base plate. The sight was too far to the right and was shooting too high, about 4 inches too high and 4 inches too far right at 20 yards appx. There is no adjustment on this sight so you are stuck with it.
I received my Springfield Plate and found it shoots 1.5 inches high and 1 inch left at 20 yards. I'm going to leave it there as I can deal with that. I'm using a red dot anyway and these are backup sights. The Springfield is adjustable for windage.
They cost more but the aggravation factor is way less.

I bought one and discovered the sight notch is cut .013 too far to the right. It is also too high. The too high I could live with as it's a back up sight only but the few inches to the right is ridiculous. You can't compensate for that!
Not to mention, at the last IDPA match, when I handed my pistol to my friends to check out they asked why the red dot doesn't align with the sights.
I contacted Impact Machine and got no response. Crickets.
Just ordered the RMR plate from Springfield. They are back in stock. I swear, sometimes it seems like I spend a dollar to save a penny!

Dryer sheets, mica, anti-static spray, Tupperware. All great ideas.
I was sure I could get some help here.

It has to be static holding the sand in the six charge holes. it has to be washed and brushed out because compressed air won't do it.
I heard that a soap film will reduce static so the last time I washed them I swished them in some soapy Dawn water and dried them. It didn't make any difference.
The sand adheres to the sides of the holes and some will transfer to the case near the rim causing my issue.
Do you think talc might work. Most of the mica is colored.

Does anybody have a way of washing a speed loader while at the range, maybe using something like a golf ball washer?
I shot an IDPA match and my speed loaders were picking up so much sand that it eventually started interfering with my rounds dropping into the cylinder.
A couple of times I could see sand grains on the brass cases.
One or two would hang up about a quarter of an inch and I'd have to push them down to close the cylinder.
I tried blowing them out with compressed air but the sand seems stuck in the holes.
I wash them at home and dry them in the oven on low but after two or three stages they are full of sand again.

Two years ago they DQ'd a guy for stacking moon clips. They told him only one clip per carrier is allowed.
They must have changed the rules since then. It happened right in front of me and I paid attention since I was shooting revolver but using speed loaders.
I just skimmed the rule book and could find no reference to stacking moon clips so it should be good to go.

I would suspect the rear sight. I had to return a new pistol to Fusion because of that exact same issue. You could see light under and on the sides of the bevel and slide it to one side with finger pressure alone. I suspect their quality control is lacking.

Take you barrel out of the gun, and drop you rounds int the chamber to see if they are chambering correctly.
Your OAL may have changed.
The barrel may have some of the bullet coating at the end of the chamber.

Okay. The slide doesn't move and I do a chamber plop test on every round after reloading. It is possible that dirt had built up somewhere because after i detail stripped and cleaned the pistol it functions flawlessly. I am concerned that I am operating right on the ragged edge of functionality as far as ejection goes. I have been trying to find reduced power springs that fit a gen 4 model 35 and can't find one anywhere. There are people selling a reducing bushing for using loose springs. If necessary I can do that but reviews for that bushing are all over the place. Do you know where I can get springs?

I'm shooting a gen 4 Glock 35 .40 cal. for IDPA. My load is 3.4 Titegroup behind a 175 coated SWC. This load has a power factor of around 139 which is well above the 124 minimum. I've fired probably 4 or 5 thousand rounds with zero problems.
I had multiple issues last week with the slide failing to return to battery. Most of the time the round was partially into the chamber but other times the round was at an angle with the nose pointed into the chamber.
I detail stripped and cleaned the pistol and installed a new Wolf striker spring 6lb. and a trigger spring. I fired 100 rounds today and the pistol is working BUT it is barely ejecting the brass.
The empty brass rises about three inches above and goes eight or ten inches to the right sometimes even hitting my knuckles.
This can't be right. As far as I know it has always done this but I can't say for sure.
My thoughts are that the recoil spring is too stout for the load.
I shot the same load in a friends 35 and it does the same thing.
Any ideas as to the problem and if a new spring is needed what poundage? -
Thanks for all the replies. I was wondering how much time I should spend on trying to improve on this. I'll stick with the load I've developed and work on my shooting.

I've been reloading for 40 minor using 175 SWC lead, The group I'm getting is about 3 inches at 25 yards from sand bags. Shooting a glock 35. `Is this acceptable ? Should I keep experimenting until I get a better group? I'm shooting in IDPA. I quess I'm asking what a real typical group size should be at 25 yards with a G35 and an average shooter.

Most PC bullets I have compared were 30 to 70 FPS slower than plain lead with the same powder charge.
Hmmmm, I've had just the opposite results. I have been charting velocities on .40 PC bullets and my velocities have been 30-125 FPS faster with PC boolits than the exact same load in lead.
Thats very interesting. I don't own a chrony but the recoil difference between lead and PC bullets was extreme. Similar to a 38 special compared to a .357, although not quite as much.
Bumping the powder up fixed the problems so I have to assume it was velocity related.

The bullets were polymer coated. Everything was the same including COL. Bumping the powder charge fixed all the problems so the slide velocity must have been the problem..

66 views and nobody had a clue. It turns out that PC bulles are slicker and don't stay in the case long enough for pressure to build up. The fix was bumping the powder charge to 4gr.

I've been loading 175gr SWC with 3.5gr Bullseye and shooting them thru my Glock 35 and they have been working flawlessly. Probably shot 1000 rounds or so.
I ordered some PC coated bullets from the same manufacturer and loaded them exactly the same as the uncoated bullets.
The recoil is way less and I'm getting multiple jams per magazine. It stops with the shell angled up into the chamber. It seems as if it needs more powder to function correctly but I'm not sure. In my frustration at the range I did not notice if the slide was locking back with the PC bullets. Anyone have an idea what could cause this?

Glad that you were able to order. I had left my email for notification and never got notified. I just got in the habit of checking several times per day and got lucky. My order has already been shipped!
