New pistol competitor from central Mississippi. Been shooting and hunting since I was about 5 (I'm 48). I shoot a few sporting clays matches a year and usually finish top 10%. Really interested in pistol competition and maybe some 3 gun.

Hello all, Donald from Houston, TX. Been a hunter all my life and am thinking of getting into competition. Is there a link or thread where I can find out the differences in everything, ( IDPA, USPSA, Steel challenge, open, limited, production) ? Thank you.

Newbie here. I understand that production is basically "off the shelf" guns with no customization. I don't really understand the exclusion of single actions especially when short stroke striker fired is legal. I mean, is someone really going to have an advantage over others shooting a Browning Hi-Power?
