Thanks. Never felt a need to have 1 shorter for best reloads?

No when you only run big sticks then that’s all you know and you can reload whenever you want. I didn’t like practicing with both sizes so I switch a couple years ago and would never go back

  2. I run all 170s.  I switched because I did not like having to start with a 140 and then load to a big stick as it felt different.  So I  started practicing big stick reloads and found that my times are faster so now I run all big sticks.  The extra weight argument is dumb, just load the 2nd stick to what you need.

  3. mine also track to the 1:30 position and I have spoke with several dot shooting (CO and Open) and this holds true for them as well.  For me it is all about if it does the same thing every time and returns to the same spot.

I'm not even sure why we have an LEO catagory. We don't have a plumber or electrician catagory. As we know most cops would be classed D or C. Just because we carry a gun for a living doesn't add to our hit factors.  I wouldn't be heart broken if it was eliminated. Ladies, juniors, seniors I can see.

I am with you.  Most of the time I don't register as LEO and most matches do not recognize it anyway.  The one time I did register as LEO was at Nationals and that was kinda cool as I got to identify who else was a copper and met some nice people from around the county and world.

  5. I don’t have the Brazos but if you want something further back try a nitro fin. When I bought my open gun it had the nitro fin and a cmore. I did not like that set up but it brings it a long ways back. I have the nitro fin and no need for it if you are interested.

  6. I would lean towards you have a gun set up for minor and are trying to run major. Major is going to push the slide way faster than minor. With the lighter recoil spring for minor it is simply letting the slide recoil too fast and making it hard for the extractor to do its job. Try using a 1-2 pound heavier recoil spring for major and see if that helps.

  7. Just finished mine up. Kkm barrel binary engineering comp bushnell advance dot. Around 1500 rounds. The gun appears plenty stout and I am really loving it. 8cfb98eb7eb7c8cb7969ab08df11ca86.jpg

  8. Has anyone used any of the ORM 9 major. I see they offer it in 115 and 124 grain options. Price is much more reasonable than Atlanta Arms. As low as .34 per round vs .44 cents.
Yep. It performs just as it should. Good quality and good performance.

  9. I use to shoot one.  I really liked it.  It ran perfect and parts where not that bad to get.  Trigger needs some work otherwise you will have a lot of take up and a long reset.  All that being said 2011 are super cheap and readily available on the forum.  If a Tanfo goes down at a match there is not going to be anyone there with a spare or parts unlike a 2011 which almost half the field will have.

  10. First welcome to USPSA and second nice shooting.  Here are a couple things I saw right away.  Move with a purpose, grip hard (already said), work on transitions, It looks like you are aiming a lot which I am sure comes from IDPA, but you can get away with a fairly sloppy sight picture for the target distances we shoot.  Also don't stick you r gun into ports if you have to come back out of it.  It is slower and better chance of getting ahead of the gun and breaking the 180.

  11. so area 5 was a similar issue.  first 3 were just under so he shoots the 2nd 3 ( which actually made it on there own, but I told him he needs to take the best 3.  Same song of not my first time.  I showed his the rule and also the fact that the chrono sheets say right on them best 3 of 6.  Know the rules and be confident, not angry, when trying to get the right call.

  12. Stop slap the mag after you reload.  Ha.  I use to do that as well.  It looks like a couple times you forgot where you where going next.  Make sure you are going through your plan to the point you do not have think about it.  Stage 5 work on your activator sequence.  Low hanging fruit as you just stood there for at least a second to shoot the clam.  Foot work looks solid and so does your grip.  I don't normally suggest to people to shoot more matches as it is practice that most people need, but I think more matches will help with stage plans and how best to shoot activators.
