  1.  I have one. So, far I haven't had much success with it on a stock  X-Carry w/ standard loads, but that probably has more to do with my grip than the *thumb rest [generic]* itself.  I do plan to evaluate it on a Full Size with lighter loads and a 14# recoil spring, and will post an update once I've spent more time with it. I will say it is an ingenious design, and is very well-made.

I can let you know as soon as Optics Planet quits extending their "expected ship date" on the two I ordered well over a month ago...

I just got the "ready to ship" notice on the Shrouds I ordered in March. Unfortunately, the price no longer shows the discount I was given, so I now await their response to my inquiry. At leats it seems Sig is finally starting to crank them out, so hopefully your wait will be over by the end of the year.

Yes.  Even if I take a full second between shots, I’ll occasionally get some muzzle dip right before the shot breaks.

It's a bit of a stretch, but I wonder if your wrists "remember" the Glock grip angle, and haven't quite adapted to the more vertical Sig grip.

In contrast, I have to adjust my grip on X grip modules to accommodate for them being too "Glock-like" in comparison to the regular P320 grip.

Anyone else have a problem with flinching with the X5?  I went from a Glock to the X5, and for whatever reason I have a tendency to flinch low and slightly left on 2nd and third shots.  I don’t flinch with any other gun - just the X5.  It also doesn’t happen to the first shot, just some follow up shots.

is this a technique issue?  Is there something about going from a Glock grip to Sig grip that might be inducing this?

Do you have the same issue when slow-firing?

  5. Just got a Sig P320 in 40sw and it has an extended slide lock/release lever on it that sticks way out. It is a new part they are putting on the guns.

It does not work well for me being a lefty and using a thumbs forward grip. It is the same on the other side also.

All the pics online, including their website show the old version. I called them and they wanted to charge me $32 for a slimmer one.

I would be glad to trade with you. Let me know if you're interested.

  6. I am migrating to a "Vogel" grip with the left hand much higher which sort of shields the slide stop - my right thumb now rides on the heel/base of left thumb eliminating the problem.

Does the TDL not dig into the base of your thumb with this grip? I ask because it has when I've tried it.

  7. I noticed in the video it mentions one of the safeties is to prevent it from firing when out of battery. The review from Mas Ayoob(spelling?) he mentions the gun has the ability to fire when pressed up against someone and it is pushed out of battery.

I think what Mas was referring to was that neither the barrel nor slide extend beyond the dust cover, which will prevent it from going out-of-battery when pressed into an object (i.e. bad guy).

I'm wondering if this is (or anticipated as) a requirement of the MHS trials, as the top of the Beretta APX slide is angled rearward, at the front, taking this idea an additional step. Just speculation on my part...

  8. I used the holster that came with the gun and made a couple kydex mag holders which all worked fine]

Those look great ... Nice job!

  9. That apx take down lever looks pretty massive as well. I still think glock has a good setup leaving the frame space unobstructed.

For me, it isn't the physical size, but the prominence. The P320 TDL has a noticeable stepped ridge, and sits atop the frame. The APX appears to be basically flat, and slightly recessed; similar to the M&P and FNS, neither of which I even notice.

  10. Anybody get there hands on this new pistol from Berreta. Saw a news article striker fired plastic gun from Berreta.

No, but I plan to get one as soon as it materializes in the U.S.

  11. If you look at the first generation P250 you see that it's take down lever was less pronounced.

I've noticed that. Ice also been told that it, and the slide stop version from the MHS submission, will be available this year, but could not get a timeframe. I'm seriously considering modifying both myself, but would like to get spares first, in case I mess them up (or to return it to stock, before selling). But, as it is, my groups are better with the P320 than with any other gun I've owned; past or present, and I am still amazed at the trigger, straight out of the box.

  12. A less prominent take down lever might be what I need but this could also just show I need to improve my technique to reduce muzzle rise.

You are not alone in that takedown lever! In fact, it (which surprised me ) and the ease of me riding the slide lock (which didn't surprise me, being a Sig, but did disappoint me) are the main reasons I am axiously awaiting the release of the Beretta APX, although I am hoping Sig will produce alternative parts long before the APX becomes a reality.

  13. Do any of you have trouble with the trigger smacking your finger on reset?

I had an issue my first time out. Started pressing the top half of the trigger, rather than middle/lower, and haven't had a problem since.
