  1. I have a 2011 Edge and had the weak side of the frame checkered into the frame about 1" long and about 1/2 wide as a pad for my weak hand thumb. Is this USPSA Limited / L 10 legal? If not, is there any way to cover it to keep it legal?

  2. I was hoping to find a solution for my hammer follow with this thread but trying to send my custom built STI (almost new 2000rds) down to Benny Hill is very difficult due to permits. My smith has tried to help me with this problem but no luck. Does anyone know if Benny Hill or another good smith will be at your uspsa nats in Sept 08 during the limited or limited 10 matches that could give it a look over and find a solution?

    Thanks

  3. Woo hoo. We found the problem. There is some play in the right side of the ambi safeties. Both types. When I transfer from strong to weak hand and push on the right side of ambi it won' t go down. Keeping presure on the trigger I use my right finger and the saftey disengages with very little pressure and the trigger engages the way it should. Now I can fix this so it will be a memory of 2007

Thanks for your help guys it is greatly appreaciated.

    Happy new year eh.

  4. I don't know much but this sounds <_< strange What I would do with an unloaded gun and a magazine in place = is hold the left side of the safety in place with your fingers and move the right side with the other hand. ? does it move together or is it sloppy?

The next step is to kill a chicken and drip some blood on each magazine base pad during a full moon at the edge of a lake.

Don't kill the chicken until the moon comes up.

Yes, there is some play on the right side ambi. This is also happens when I use the original STI ambi as well.

  5. I changed all of the pins today and rechecked the grip where the trigger bow slides thru and found it clean of rough spots and burs. This only seems to happen when I use my left thumb (weak hand) to disengage the safety. I think I will go back to disengaging with my stong hand then transfering from strong to weak hand. A buddy of mine thinks it may be my death grip on the gun as I am normally left handed.

  6. Yup, I checked for burs in the grip and side movement in the trigger bow. This happens when I am switching off my thumb safety with my left thumb after transferring from my right hand. This has been bugging me for a year now and I can't think of any where else to look.

  7. Hello, I have done a search with no luck, so here goes. I have a .40 STI Edge stock condition. When I transfer gun from strong to weak (left) hand and engage the ambi safety it fails to fire unless I squeese the heck out of trigger. The second shot is ok. I have filed down the part that activates the safety. I even taped the grip safety in and it still does it. I also polished the sides of the grip safety, as well as tried different length sear springs. I checked for grip cracks and also changed trigger bows in an effort to elimante things. Any suggestions would be appreaciated.
