    a whole lotta of updates:

Brain is now making the grips in the following configurations:

Steel 4140 or stainless, dimpled or flat so you can use grip tape.

Dimpling is eithe normal or chainsaw sharp where when you let go of the grip its still stuck to your hand!!!!

No dimples $400, dimpled normal or chainsaw $475

Aluminum dimpled normal or chainsaw $375, or no dimples $300

Titanium dimpled normal or chainsaw only $750

Attached is a pic of the aluminum grip..

Thanks for the info Dean. I'm really liking the looks of these grips. I think I'm sold!!!

They are awesome as is Brian.. He is great to deal with and a perfectionist!!!!

  4. Nice group at 50. That's a tack driver!

The grips look like a direct copy of Infinity's in regard to texture. I guess they just copied right from SV's, but the trigger guard looks real bulky and blocky looking.

I would still be interested to know how many major PF loads have been tested on that grip? 2 months is not a long time. I remember those STI grips that would crack after a while. I crack 6 of those things (cracking was the issue and why they were discontinued). It eventually led to breaking the small tang hole on the front of the frame. Those were drop on as well which led to problems. Infinity's are all precisely hand fit and polished. A tight hand fit is what you want.

I have an Infinity with well over 40k and no cracks like you wrote in the post you edited. You said because of the 2 piece Infinity grip that it would crack. That hasn't happened to me but what I like is that the 2 piece allows several variations in regard to grip set up. I have a single undercut but can get a double undercut, and if I don't like it, I can switch it back.

I guess that grip is considered a mild texture. Infinity offers mild, median, and aggressive (to aggressive for me) grips which gives several choices if you want a full metal grip (like the one they copied). I use the grip tape on mine which is inlayed in the grip (so its form fitting).

I guess this grip imitates the standard SV grip. I originally used the large grip from Infinity but have since gone with their Signature grip which is ergonomically efficient to my hand. I know many shooters that use this as it totally improves the feel of a 1911. It's a world of difference. I originally liked the large but after using the Signature grip, I'm not going back.

One thing that is wrong though is saying that these grips are cheaper. Grip for grip, that's just not the case. I think you are including all the pieces that came with my grip in your overall price. Like the trigger bow, mainspring housing, mag release, and button. Infinity's grip alone is around $385.(?) The whole kit is $600 something. Does the Trinity come with these pieces?

Again, nice group! That should be a Bianchi gun.

    Bill,

No one is questioning the build quality of the SV.

The trinity grip is not a copy of the SV as the SV is 2 piece, and completely different in a lot of different ways..

The trinity is a one piece grip CNC'd from a single block.. Trinity will be offering these in Stainless, 1040, and soon Titanium.

Trinity will also set the dimple pattern any way you like. If you call brian and order, you can ask him to make this as aggressive or as mild as you like...

I would say these grips are closer to the STI plastic grips than anything else..

As for the testing, I shoot open, I use a 31 round mag that puts more pressure on the grip. I have shot over 10k rounds in the 2+ months and have left full 31 round mags in the gun for days to test. What I am trying to say is this grip is taking the abuse and not show any signs at all of cracking..

As for the groups at 50 yards, I have to thank Errol Lawson for building this most incredible open gun.. The gun runs like a sewing machine swallowing anyhting that is fed. This gun actually runs better than it looks....

    Thanks

  5. Love Errol's work!

As far as the grip is concerned, I have the SVI grip of that kind, and the first impression out of the box was: "Boy, I goofed, I should have specified moderate texture!"

Truth is, very quickly you forget, and it becomes totally natural, so my advice is to go for the most aggressive.

I dont know if they are offereing them in varying degrees of "texture"??

    Can anyone confirm this?

The texture on this grip is just right... not too grippy where it hurts like the SV, and not too little where it os slipping.

Brian, as of now, only offers this texturing, and plain (no texture)..

If you have further inquiries, please contact Brian directly.

    Thanks

    Dean,

Keep in mind that you have several choices with the Infinity grip textures......60 or 120 grip tape, aggressive micro pockets, tactical micro pockets and standard micro pockets....you seem to imply they only offer the aggressive micro pockets....

    Thanks,

    Trace

    Trace,

I apologize if It came out that way.. I know SV offers a lot of different textures.. What I was saying is Trinity only offers there grip with the avg grip pockets.. He does not yet offer different textures.

What I was implying is that the pockets Trinity uses are right in the middle of aggressive and not aggressive..

    Thanks

  6. Awesome looking pistols. I have been looking at his grips as a cheaper option to SV's metal grips.

The grips are cheaper ONLY in price.. The build quality is so much better.... This grip is CNC'd out of a block of steel...

One piece!!! I assure you, you will be very happy with this grip!!!

  8. Are these steel or aluminum? Price?

    BC

The grips are steel and there are 2 costs:

The stipled grip, as shown in the 2 builds above is $475

Brian also makes the grip without texture which you can use grip tape, and the cost for the non textured grip is $425.

    Thanks

    Dean

  9. What about the SV triggers dropping in or not?

SV Triggers drop in, dawson magwell drops in and mag spring housing drops in as well.. The grips required very little fitting..

Brian has done a phenonimal job making sure the work to get these on is minimal..

  10. So how grippy would you say the grips are?

I sweat a lot, and live in the south. Im planning on trying one of these, but even with pro grip I need a grip that will grab my hand.

The grips are a operfect balance between not too grippy where it hurts and feeling it sit in your hand..

Yesterday it was 94 degrees and 100% humidity!!! sweating was an understatement... the grips performed perfectly...

  11. Two quick questions.

    1) Did Brian decide to offer the grip with the 2nd finger notch in the trigger guard or did the gunsmith cut it for you.

    2) Can you share details on the 31 rd magazines?

    Thanks.

    Bill

NO.. Brian did not cut the secondary finger Notch.. Errol cut that himself for his gun and I did not as it gives me more secure left hand hold!!!

The 31 round mags...... We have had these 31 round mags for years.. There is a lot to making these work and too much detail to share...

    Thanks

Do you sell the 31 rd mags?

NO!!! there is way too much work involved... Errols and Mine are all 9mm... The guns above are in 9mm commander length as well..

    Thanks
