Good info. How do you like n340 compare to e3?You can use Clays data for e3. e3 is a lot more forgiving, because it has no pressure spikeyness when you get near max, and it has zero temperature sensitivity.
My Major load is mixed brass, CCI 500, 3.6gr Alliant e3 and 180gr Precision poly coated bullet, or lead TC bullet. If I am using a HiTek coated bullet I have to got to 3.7gr. Both make 172PF and both are loaded to 1.126" OAL. I didn't like Berry's bullets. I don't like X-Tremes very well either. I do like, and use, Rainier copper plated bullets.
Unique is a little too slow for Major loads with a 180gr bullet, and it is large flake, so it doesn't meter as well as others.
N320 is just too expensive to use given it is no better than e3. It costs twice as much and you have to use more of it. Another reason to use e3 is the consistency. All my e3 40sw loads make single digit SDs for 10 or 20 shot strings. They range in the 4.8 to 7.9 range. I never got any VV powder to do that well, except for N340.
2.8gr e3 under the 180 makes a nice Minor load at 140PF. I also shoot a sub-minor load for Steel Challenge. It is 3.3gr e3 under a 135gr Rainier bullet for around 110PF. It is soft.

Anyone using Clean Shot for major 40? How's it compare to other powder like N320, WST and E3?

Rowdyb, why did you decide to go E3 over WST. Is just because of temperature sensitive? How does it feel and cleanness compare to other powder? I'm currently use N320. Hope to go to another powder good as that but easier to get and cost less.Yep, it looks like for my set up 4.20 is the amount of E3 I need to be sure I'm gonna make major with a decent confidence level.
So far in this gun with the same bullet and other stuff the same I've needed 4.8 of WST, 4.4 of Titegroup or 4.20 of E3 to make major and not sweat it.

I really wish my loads are not so hot. I have to give the blue bullet a try.
Plated just worked okay for me in a non-aet SV barrel. I haven't even bothered to try them in the AET SV barrel. :-)
MG's work well but are pricey. :-)
I'm using Blue Bullets 180's and only need 4.7gr of N320 and they are a good bit cheaper than the plated.

I have a 5in SV, use 180gr Xtreme plated bullet, N320 at 5.3gr, 1.185 oal average 170+.

Yes, had to put on little more powder. 5.3gr, pf 950 to 960.Did you ever get it figured out?

Do you mind share a picture.Update on the movement issue: DAA said some pistols have movement because of the trigger guard shape and production variation. The suggested the Racemaster muzzle support which the Alpha-X is tapped for. After installing the muzzle support almost all of the play is gone. The draw is also more consistent. The side benefit is the muzzle is protected from being pushed when starting seated.

Please share your result.Alliant Sport Pistol has been claimed to work as well as N320 for .40 Major and it is half the price. I picked up a pound locally recently to try it out against N320, but I haven't had a chance to load any up for a comparison as of yet. I'm hoping to do that this weekend. Now, I don't know about your particular barrel either, so this is just a general comparison I have read here on the forum. I hope that helps. [emoji4]

Ok my load was good but my bullet is tumbling. MY cramp was 4.21 to 4.22, so i tried 4.23 and it was twice as bad. As yesterday i tried 4.20 and it fix the tumbling problem but now bullet speed from 970 down to 910. Is this pretty common? what is your cramp on 180gr? Thanks.

inho, it's not really a fair comparison, and i say it with the utmost respect- i shot a friend's atlas pistol in 9mm, and compared to my svi in 9mm- simply no comparison in the way both point ,feel, recoil and cycle. if you can fork the $$$$, and wait a 1.5 years ,go with the svi.
Thank you, svi is what I'm going with. I will see if a use sv would come up for sale sometime soon. I can't wait that long for a gun.

Just amazing people don't take times to learn about firearm. You can make mistake with other stuff but with gun it can become deadly.

My Federal Primers are getting crushed or mangled in Winchester brass on a fairly regular basis.
What gives?
Same here, I think they change the size of primer hole.

No, both of mine are 9's. Yes, they are well balanced but heavier than what I was used to shooting (Glocks). I don't think they shoot any flatter than an other similar sized limited pistol. I can shoot my com'p Glocks faster (lower times) but that is an unfair apples to oranges comparison.
if you have soft or dish pan hands I doubt that you will like the grip. If your hands are tough, and you are used to shooting aggressive grips, this is the best grip going IMO.
I have 5.5' Calhoun custom 40sw 2011 with CK steel grip now. It's good gun but want something shorter with evo grip. Which ever I like better is going to be my main gun. Thanks.

I'll second what Maximis said regarding finding a local guy to build your gun. Even a builder that's a couple of hours away is better than having to ship a gun to fix a small problem or make a minor modification. You can easily be out $150-$200 in shipping depending on the gunsmith. Some of the custom builders will cover the return shipping, but there's not many that will cover both ways. You also have the risk of damage/loss when handing over your expensive custom gun to FedEx or UPS. If you're not capable of doing small jobs like adjusting an extractor, installing a thumb safety, adding a thumb rest, etc., you should think long and hard about using a custom builder that's half way across the country from you.
Thanks, we have local gunsmith is pretty good with 2011. I will check with him.

Haven't shot the SV, so please read the remainder of my commentary with that in mind. Additionally, I'll only speak with respect to my experiences.
I do own a Titan in .40, and this is what I can say about the Atlas:- It works - and it shoots the standard length loads just as well if not better than the "special" longer oal loads.
- Gun feels extremely solid. The weight feels like it's in the right places too.
- If you don't like aggressive texturing, the grip Adam uses is not something you will enjoy. That said, if you like an aggressive grip, it's one of the best out there.
- I've got about 2,000 rounds down the pipe of mine at this point, and it basically feels like the day it arrived.
- With respect to "flatness", it destroys any sort of polymer gun with respect to recoil impulse and sight return...again, haven't put it up against an SV so hard to say how it compares, but I'm certainly happy with it.
- Any time I've spoke with Adam, he's been top-notch, respectful, and given me more time on the line than I likely deserved, entertaining various questions.
- I had one of the set screws come loose from my grip after a practice session (and I lost it) - Adam and Gina overnighted me a new set. I know it's a part that probably only costs .25$, but it's the principal.
Great info, thank you.

Everyone has anecdotal information. Some are more damning than others. Some are more praise worthy than others.

Thanks for the info. Wow, a good gunsmith is hard to find.
Few people mention Rob Cook, what happen to his svi?

Svi is one of top gun maker, they looks awesome and they used only the best material. Has anyone shot both gun? Does svi shoots better and its more reliable than atlas? I rather have gun that runs than just looks good.

I've never shot or even seen an SVI but I do own a matching set of twin Titan pistols. They are VERY well made, accurate and 100% reliable. The slide feels like it rides on ball bearings and the
Do you have them in 40sw? Does it feel balanced and shoots flat? I wish someone around me have one to test. I talk to Adam and he was super helpful. I do feel very good to purchase from him.

Looking to purchase a 5' limited gun, I like Atlas Titan and SVI ST but never shot them. Hope to get some feedback before the purchase.
Which Shadow 2

I shoot stock 2 for about 2 years with all the works you can possible to done to it. Like you decide to give Shadow 2 a try. So far they are the best shooting gun from all the CZ and Tanfoglio to me. I will recommend to get stock gun with Canjun trigger kit, lighter recoil spring little and little polish will give you perfect competition gun. Good luck with it.
