Has anyone else had issues with the slide not locking back when empty on these? Not sure if that's intentional or not, but when I use the stock mags the slide lock doesn't engage when the gun runs dry. The slide does stay open but it's because it snags on the follower on closing (which keeps the mag from ejecting without pulling back on the slide first to take off the pressure).
The two Brazos tuned mags that I have that don't lock open the slide don't do this. I'm ordering some Grams followers for the two stock mags that I plan on modifying to not lock open the slide anyways, but it just seemed puzzling that the gun would do this right out of the box.
Did you get yours from Brazos? They modify it for no lock back, at least that's what they told me when I ordered one with some extra tuned mags. They said that the stock mags would have to be modified by me to work correctly for no lock back. I am still waiting for my Brazos gun to come in. In the meantime I got my hands on another DVC from elsewhere, and it locks back.
Hope that helps.

For those who have received/shot their DVCs, how do you like the more aggressive grip? Is it chewing you up, not enough or just right?
Mine is perfect. I have skateboard tape on my duty gun, and use Dawson grip tape on my Glock 35 limited gun. The DVC grip is the best out of all of them...not too aggressive and not too wimpy.

so i found a couple from a dealer so i have both a 9mm and the 40.. I should receive them tomorrow. I am a little worried about the mags though. The 40 does appear to have the 140 but the 9mm looks like is has the 126's which will be a disappointment for sure. They were advertised as having 140's on both guns. I guess we will see tomorrow.
So which mags did you end up getting after all?

KAP Guns in Loves Park, IL has a "few" DVCs according to their facebook page....
Emailed Kenny at KAP Guns, he said he has sold two 40 Limited DVCs today, and has two left. $2599. FYI. Not sure if he charges credit card fees and what shipping would be, but there you go!

So besides someone mentioning at a local match that they turned down a LTD 9 from Brazos, has anyone here heard anything directly from Brazos? I'm (impatiently) waiting on a LTD .40 from Brazos...
On a side note, I've read that the STI Edge .40 likes longer than factory OAL cartridges (1.185" as opposed to 1.125"). It may be too early to ask, but does anyone with a .40 DVC have any insight? Might as well get some test loads worked up while I (impatiently) wait....

Anybody hear anything from Brazos yet?

Guys I'm really sorry! I have been really busy with life... I do this on my own time. STI isn't hiding anything. We did have an issue with a vendor. We had to find another company to do the job. We did not want to sacrifice quality to push the DVC out the door. We had to try multiple vendors, and test the product before we could decide what was going to the best fit for the DVC. This is time consuming as I'm sure you all know. We have been swamped with order and we are doing our best to deliver the gun you expect.
We have begun shipping DVC's to our shooting teams. I believe we have shipped the last one this week. STI staff normally works 4 days a week 10 hours a day. We have increased production to 5 10 hour days. These guns will start rolling out to dealers early April.
I apologize again for the delay! STI and myself pride ourselves in displaying the best customer service in the industry! If you have questions please ask and I will do my best to respond in a timely manner.
Thanks!
Dustin
Thanks for the update!

My personal opinion...which doesn't amount to much:
Everyone seemed fine with the wait and even with the pushed delivery dates...because STI had a rep giving daily (or sometimes even more than once-a-day) updates on here. But now STI has been quiet on here, leading to a sense of lack of communication and transparency. Maybe STI told Dustin to cool it on the estimated date updates, or maybe they've been too busy building guns and running a small business to keep up with an internet forum...who knows. The continual updates and then the total lack of information is what is causing everyone anxiety.
I'll keep waiting for my Limited...I was told May/June and hope it'll be here by then (or sooner...lol!). In the mean time I'll continue on with my current equipment. I'm excited just as anyone...maybe even more so because this will be my first 2011.

I placed my 9mm limited order with Brazos on 1/25. Then they were estimating a late feb/march delivery. I actually called to see if the $400 deposit was refundable and they said no!
While I dont have any regrets at this point in time. If these pistols dont show up for several more months I will be very disapointed.
Did they give you an updated guesstimation on delivery date?

i have a question for those that ordered one. Did you have to put down a deposit and is the deposit refundable? were you told when you ordered when your gun would come in? how long are you willing to wait for a DVC ?
Ordered 2/26/2015
Brazos
Limited 40
$400 deposit
I am not sure where on the wait list I'm at for the Limited 40, but I believe I'm in the first batch Brazos ordered from STI.
I was told they were due in from STI in late March/early April, but to expect a more realistic date of May/June and to be flexible. I hope they come in sooner rather than later...the wait sucks! It's worse than waiting for an NFA stamp!
