  1. I have not done it, yet. I try and check all mags, 1911, for bullets forward and all full just before "load and make ready" I'll wait my turn until it's a bigger shoot :-)

I did watch a friend shoot a stage with 1 mag too few on his belt once..........

  2. Friend of mine has same brand 1911's in 9,40 and 45. From what I hear, after the load and make ready command is given a 9 mag will seat, and the bullet will go right out the end of the 45's barrel when the slide is cycled.

HEHE, it happens to us all...............

  3. Thanks guys,

It has some ugly skateboard tape on the front strap, used but paid for mag well that slides under the grips. I'm using the factory sights, never have tried FO front, might be worth a try.

Tonight after reading another post went down and checked all my mags since I noticed some were not dropping free and tweaked them so they do. Power mags seem to be doing pretty good for me, and paid for

14lb recoil and 19lb mainspring are on there way, have to see how it works, did not want to take a chance on light primer hits.

Is an extended mag release legal, or frowned upon?? I was thinking just one thats .060" longer, stock diameter, with a little reliving of the grip for the knuckle of the thumb??????????

    Thanks much guys!

  4. Well I usually shoot informal matches at the local club and would like to play with my "game only" loaded SA. I want to be able to shoot SS, when I have the time. It's mostly as I bought it, used 2 years ago and have the itch to play with it. I'd like to do the little things myself, don't have any real need, or money to get extreme at this time. I ordered some new springs, have never changed one on it yet  and am looking for some more ideas.

Trigger is good, no problem there.

    What is recommended and legal??

    Thanks guys,

    Tony

  5. The 2 targets are something like 40 inches apart, its a mini popper. When shooting from the steel min. of 21' you don't see much. If the front target was closer it would apear bigger and hide the rear target more.

As for splatter, we have a popper at the range on wood base it allows you to see the splatter quite well. We have at least 300 shots on it and all hit in a 4" window on the wood, none go very far forward at all.

    Thanks for looking.

  6. Hey all,

I'm running a league at my club, never had IPSC or IDPA at the club, I'm using plastic drums for barriers and am wondering if anyone cuts them?? I"m thinking 1/2 or maybe thirds. I'm wondering if it's possible to stack them end to end with an end cut off yet be able to stack inside each other for storage.

Thanks, any other ideas feel free to offer...........

  7. I shot a IDPA match that required 18 rounds for a stage, I like to keep the gun full so I decided when to reload ahead of time. I hear the buzzer and my brain dies, shoot 6 and reload, shoot 4 and reload, I have a full gun for the last "window". Problem is I reload again as I come to the window, nothing like diging in the pocket for a mag, only one to find was the one with 3 rounds, could not finish the stage........................
