  1. My reloading room:

All are mounted on these bent 10 gauge steel plates.

Three holes in the bench top allow me to mount any of these solidly with a single three inch by 1/2 inch NC grade 8 bolt. I can change presses on the bench in about one minute.

This is my first attempt at a dedicated reloading room, I will do better next time!

Those mounts are pure genius! How about another pic focused on them.

  2. -Are there many that shoot Open with 10mm and .45?! Cannot really fathom why IGB would call them for IPSC-mounts. ???

    I'm researching for a G20 now.

I'm thinking of getting an Ultradot LT for the warranty. Mounting it may be a problem, but if it doesn't work out I could use it for something else.

Does anyone make a Weaver mount that fits the rear sight notch for a Glock?

  3. Thanks for the help everyone. I checked out a friends new Ghost and thats the one. Even drawing right handed I was pretty fast with it.

Ghost, CR Speed belt and some kind of mag pouches. Thats the ticket.

  4. I've looked at shootersconnection and Rescomp AU. Does anyone sell a left hand WSMII sm Glock holster for less than $200. I would like to buy the whole thing, holster, belt, and pouches for less than $350.

The DOH is my runnerup now. The thing is I'm way slower out of my non speed 1911 holster vs my 012, and I'm still not fast from that.

  5. I've searched here and elsewhere. It will be for my 17. I've narrowed it down to the following:

    Ghost vs CR speed WSM2

    &

    Blade-tec DOH vs Safariland 5182

    My factors are as follows:

    1. This would be primarily for local Steel chanllenge type events.

    2. I would probably use it for IPSC limited or open, NO IDPA.

    3. The draw is the worst part of my shooting. I'm slooow.

    4. I have a Safariland 012 for 1911's. I feel comfortable about not dropping the gun with this holster. I'm twice as fast with it vs a Fobus paddle I have.

4a. I've never used the Ghost, is it alot easier to drop a gun with it?

    5. Why does it seem only Rob Leatham uses the 5182. Is the DOH that much better than it?

    6. I'll be buying a CR Speed belt for this, what is it's width. Where can you get a discount buying the belt, holster and mag pouch combo for CR Speed.

    Allright, anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks, Max

  6. Wow, what a shame if its true.

You can swap out the frame straight from Glock for $46 plus tax. I have done it three times b/c of buying older Glocks w/out finger grooves and wanting the newer frames. You usually get the frame back in 2-4 weeks.

Wow, that is cheap. I want to do the same thing on a 17L I have. What kind of serial number does it come back with?

  7. Hi, I aquired this mount some time ago and have no idea what it is. It seems to be for a 1911, I held it against a single stack on the guns left side as your holding it, the mounting bolts lined up with the dust cover and the mount was over the slide only offset to the left. It seems to have been designed so you wouldn't have ejection problems. Anyway, here's some pics, any help would be appreciated.

  8. Thats one of those things you have to learn for yourself. I've had two shooters I look up to tell me, "Don't change anything before a match".

I was shooting a match that I traveled 17hours to shoot. I increased the OAL of my cartridge .007 (because it didn't look right) and even upped the powder charge a tenth of a grain. I had enough faliures to eject that it cost me a gun or two.

    Live and learn!

  9. I'm pretty sure I know enough about the frame mounted dots. I've read rave reviews of the Docter/JP/Tasco slide mounted sights. I can't believe the C-Mores won't hold up.

They look clumsey and awkward, but they have to be reliable.

  10. I have a gun that looks exactly like Tim's, Glock 17, KKM barrel, 3 port comp, 8lb 1911 spring, lowered ejection port, magwell, and lightend slide.

I tried slower 125's but 115s at 1200fps gave me the best results. It shoots nice flat for me. Recoil is sharper in the hand and there's more concussion but it does keep the muzzle down. Your results may vary, I shoot USPSA open mostly so I'm used to major pf in a relatively light SV open gun.

I've only shot 2 GSSF matches, and this gun only at one of them and the results were mixed. I did win my 3rd gun at the second match so I'll be shooting unlimited from now on. We'll see how it goes. The top GSSF regulars are there becasue what they shoot works so I'd listen to them. I mainly went the route I did because I like the way Tim's gun and mine look.

TMC, how did you remove the rear sight channel?

  11. I have a 17C I used in open (minor) in GSSF and USPSA matches with a cmore mount (not carver) until a couple months ago when I got a 38 super STI open gun.

I have thought about making my 17C into a major9 shooter and emailed back and forth with one of John's co-workers about this and they said in major9 it is best to use a standard 17 slide and not a 17C slide with the cutouts as it will add extra stress.

So if you think you will never go major than it doesn't matter which slide, although most people I've spoke with on Glocks say to go with the 17 over the 17L.

Comps are cool but like it has been said if you are shooting light loads anyway you don't need them and they don't work well with light loads. My 17C with the stock barrel ran great with max end and most higher factory loads but had problems with lighter loads making the gun cycle.

Have you shot a standard 17 vs the 17C, was their a significant difference?
