Hmmm, don't want to kill the get a new gun buzz but what is wrong with your Taurus? I would shoot it until it stopped going bang. This will allow you to save up and buy an L frame 686.

Yep, it's gonna be fun! Hopefully the update to the webpage clears up most questions people had. Thanks for posting!

I registered a few weeks ago online also. I called Armor Express and was told to mail a check. They had my discount registration documented. They are not taking credit cards this year, so mail a check and you should be good to go.
Pin Shoot
PO box 545
Cental Lake MI 49622
Hope this helps!

Yes, the shoot is definitely going to happen. Not quite sure why there are delays in contacting shooters back.

I just texted Rich, hope to get back to you with info soon.

Great gun, keep a pair on the night stand. As Toolguy stated, a lot of hot loads or high volume will split the barrel. Use it as intended, and it will last a lifetime. If it has the box, etc. and is in excellent condition 500 is not out of line.

Best match ever. Went there in 1977 as a thirteen yo kid. It was an eye opener.

TY, someday I need you to make me one. This one was worked over by Pinnacle Performance. Needed an L frame for the 230 gr bullets.

Haven't been to the shoot since 1985. I am really looking forward to seeing some old friends!

Hell, take a break and do something different for awhile. I hit the wall with shooting as well as my other interests. That's when it's best to switch gears and change it up. I did learn the hard way that I ALWAYS regretted selling equipment. There is a reason why shooting is important to you and it will come back around!

Nice kit you have there!

Nice! I picked up a 629 classic not long ago. What load are you using?
-
Impressive! I need one of those.

Looking for ideas, thanks!

Nice, is that a stainless steel barrel?

Fairly obvious what the parts are intended to do.......
Are you certain it is from S&W? The machine work looks like S&W quality but could it be from an old Taurus or Rossi?
I am pretty sure it is S&W. I think it is custom work from whoever HS was.

Looks like an improvised lock/block. In your third pic, with the piece flush with both sides of the hammer it would work in the frame, if slid out, the cut out portion seems like it would ride over the frame and prevent the hammer from moving. The divots on the bottom of the block, the spring you have on the side and the divot in the hammer where the cutout is, maybe would have been a ball detent to make it click.
(just a guess, I did do a couple of google searches, didn't return anything related)
I think you are right, it was missing the detention pin, so I made one. It functions now, just seems like a lot of effort. Anyway, for $10.00 I just had to have it. I have a project gun I am starting and this hammer will be used.
