As the CRO on that stage, please delete that photo... That Damn cable gave me a headache for 8 hours Saturday! Don't need any more reminders of it!

While on that topic, will the el presidente stage count as a classifier?

I know jabs xtreme steel targets has made some. Might want to shot them an email

Bidding farewell to this thread, heading to the other

I have only shot level one matches so far what can I expect to be different at a level two match? Any thing I should practice?
The targets are the same size so don't worry. Honestly, level two matches tend to be a little more technical. Tighter shots, harder leans, further distance, awkward shooting positions, things like that.

Almost forgot about it at 815 and there was only 30 spots left. Hope all the staff spots aren't taken.
-
it was my experience at area 6, both shooting one day and working a stage the other 3, that half the shooters didn't listen to a word of the stage briefing.

I'm write positive I'm getting bumped to B class after winning C class at area 6 in limited and a good classifier the week before.

Hello: Does anyone know who won the Akai gun? Thanks, Eric
Chandler Nelson. Army guy from Dothan
-
Was the cash payout/prize schedule ever posted? I am wondering what 3rd overall in Limited gets me.
I'm sure it will be decent, considering I got a gun for winning limited C class.

Cha-lee they never put in print when the shooters meeting was going to be. They did yelled when they decided. Lol but I'll say that and the fact that a guy ran stage 4 and 5 with this same time & same hits on the same targets. Those 2 issues was all I heard of as far as what the match officials could control, that's pretty good. That guy should have played the lotto that shot those 2 seperated stages identically. Great match, lots of hard work by all. Thanks and congrats on your finish!!
Allen, I was one of the ROs on 4 and 5 and that's the first I've heard of that. Do you happen to know who the shooters were and were they one the same squad?

Mike, when do you want us to apply for RO?

I'm in. I'm going to train hard and make shooting this match my Goal. Could someone explain to me the different level matches? this is a level 2, the ones I have been attending are level 1 matches.
Level I = local matches
Level II = State or Section matches
Level III = Area Matches
Level IV = Nationals
It's spelled out in the rule book the difference, but local matches are level 1, most majors are level 2, and nationals are usually level 3. Level 2 has to have stages approved by DNROI and level 3 has other requirements like chino and CRO per stage.

Looking at the diagram, you would either shoot either the t6-t8 or t9-t11 array weak hand only. It's really not that complicated.
I agree. Anyone who runs up range after engaging those last 6 targets to engage 6 more has already significantly screwed the pooch anyways.
My main question is this. Can one be double penalized. Say you get a Squibb or gun falls apart prior to engaging last array. Do you get 6 miles, 3 FTE, and 3 "failure to do rights" because last 6 you did shoot prior to malfunction want weak hand only?

I received my check 2 days ago.
Being new to USPSA major matches, is it normal to see cash prizes fall on the short side of your entry fee? In general, should I expect to have to win HOA just to break even?
For reference, 1st M Limited was worth $100. Entry fee $130.
Don't be surprised if alot of matches don't even do a cash payout. Each one is different. Some it's cash, some it's prizes, some it's just a trophy.

So Ron 169 you got your check but no plaque?
Go my plaque at the awards ceremony so no need to ship
-
I got my check today, so I'm sure others that further away I get them in the coming days
-
From speaking to Peter, he did tell me it would be a good mix of small medium and long courses if that helps any

I'll remind everyone of the fiasco at last year's area 6 where stages got posted, some other club ran a baby area 6 match and staff had to scramble to make new stages last minute after the uproar. Wouldn't surprise me if stages get posted the Sunday night before the match this year.
-
Whats the half day format? Im confused because it then says we will shoot all the stages in 5 hours?
Matt, at last year's match, on Saturday, we were turning 7-8 person squads with a 3 minute walk through in less than 30 minutes. So yeah 9-10 stages in 5 hours, plus the range officers do all the pasting so all you do is shoot.
-
Dan emailed me for my address for a check the other day
-
Was a fun 3 days, that's for sure. Weather was perfect from set up through awards. Dan, I'm glad I got to be but a small part in the match. Can't wait until next year as I'm sure things will be just as great, if not better!

Already got my vacation days in. Was a great batch to work last year and can't wait for this year
RO'ing at local matches . how much does it affect your
in USPSA/IPSC Shooting

Doesn't really affect me at all... I'll run the timer until I'm in the hole. Once I'm in the hole, hand the timer to someone else, whether they are competent or not.
