  1. Santa brought him a BB gun, the Red Ryder every kid should have, and a BB trap. Today I picked up some BB's on the way home and fabricated a BIG backstop in the basement.

So we shoot for a while, have some fun but working the fundamentals. Trap is about 5 yards from the muzzle. Get him going with both eyes open, front sight press press press etc. Start asking questions about what he is seeing when the shot breaks and get some good feedback so I laid another target down in front of him and ask him to tell me where the front sight was when it lifted. He was actually calling shots, ACCURATELY!!!! He called about 75% of the shots right on and about 95% were close, it is amazing how easily the mind can do these things right when you don't 'know' how to do it already. He had no pre-concieved notions about what or how, and he had no expectations. Just turned 7 and in 40 shots is actually calling the shots, amazing to me. Makes me wish I could format the shooting hard drive in my head and spend a couple weeks with Manny......

He and I both had a great time and lots more to look forward to!! Just had to share with likeminded people!!

I remember when I started shooting with my dad. He started me out on one of thoes short .22 chipmunk rifles. Days I'll never forget.

  2. Thanks for the encouragement guys! Right now I'm home on leave for Christmas..Basic so far has been interesting. We just ended the first 3 weeks 3 days ago and changed to the white phase..When I go back they said we get to start shooting things. That makes me happy!! :) My MOS is Infantry if you wanted to know. I'm at ft. Benning on Sand Hill and my o my do they like to do " corrective trainning "...sometimes we dont even know why we're doing it. And for thoes of you who are asking about dad and mom, they'll still be shooting. Dads excited to get back into the game. I just have one more big goal...To try to get dad to sign some of these guns over to me when I turn 21...Right now when I ask him about that he laughs at me <_< ...o well...still have 3 years to work him :D

  3. we also invented the whole ramology dictionary during the week...everything that week became "very ram like" ...and a funny coincidence was that the towns school mascot was the rams

  4. I use a Edge with a light Recoilmaster. But like you said, its the shooter preference. The recoil just feels better for me with the light one. But the gun won't work with light loads using the light Recoilmaster. I have to switch back to the heavy Recoilmaster for light loads.

  5. lol...thanks guys!!

  6. I just got it last sunday. It's chambered in supercomp with a

Schuemann barrel and Dan's comp. The slide design is awsome, especially

the top of the slide. It wears a c-more with a Alchin mount. I shot the other

day and it was EXTREAMLY flat and controllable :D . I just have to wait 3

weeks for the first match. :(
