  1. Most of mine comes from ACME in Wisconsin.$22.00 for 500, $44.00 for 1k or $85.00 for 2000 of once fired mostly Federal/Speer and Winchester. They come clean with a few extra thrown in for good measure. I use once fired for major and what I can pick up for practice rounds.

    Thanks, I'll check them out.

  2. I've used 4.2g with 180g Bayou Bullets and 3.8g with 200g Bayou Bullets to make major (~168PF) loaded at 1.135 for Glocks. I've also used 3.7g with 155g Bayou Bullets for minor loads (~130PF), again 1.135. You can use these at starting points for your loads, as they should be really close to bare lead loads.

have you noticed and difference in recoil for minor loads with the 155 vs 200gr?

  3. I was using 4.6gr of N320 and a 180gr plated projectile at "max" (essentially just longer than factory) length to make major out of the (my) factory G35 barrel. Shoots soft and nice, even better at minor loads, it's soft as a baby's ass.

I have seen this load recommended several times

  4. Lol...Aftec was installed soon after I started shooting it thought I'd give it a try with the stock one but it was tuned for super not super comp so I through one of my back up aftecs in it.

Right now I'm not doing anything with it. Its flat and soft and I was running some really good times with it already. Needs a bit of a trigger job but thats it.

That's great, I wish you the best of luck with it.

  5. Ran a quick little drill today, it was a good little warm up and skill test.

Set up two targets 7m downrange and 3m apart. Start hands relaxed at sides. On the signal draw and shoot the left target with two rounds then the right target with two rounds and then back to the first target with two rounds. Total number of rounds = 6.

Tests draw time, a big right transition and then a big left transition.

I ran it two ways. Initially I just shot it to see what kind of time I could run it in, then when I had some quick runs I settled on a par time and shot it like that striving to see my sights and shoot A's in the par time. For me my fastest runs were in the 1.76-1.79 range but I was dropping some C's and occasionally 1 D. So I picked a par time of 2.0 seconds to shoot all A's.

Alter the time as needed to your division and skill level but make sure it's a time that will, like the Bill Drill, force you to shoot near the edge of your ability but also keep you honest with shooting A's.

    My typical times were:

    1.0

    .18

    .24

    .14

    .24

    .14

Thanks for the detailed description, beginners like myself really benefit from posts like this, I may have to give that a try once I'm able to get out to the range.

  6. How much you can observe and feel just shooting into the backstop.

not enough for me to do it

How much you can observe and feel just shooting into the backstop.

I see what happened Pat, you did not like my response to your post and used your moderator powers to punish someone with an opposing view. People with power should not use that power for personal issues.
