  1. I just ordered a stainless guide rod with the stock 17# spring, uncaptured. I mostly shoot factory ammo 180gr so I just got the stock weight spring for now.

My question is, what spring rate would you guys recommend for the

    .40 MAJOR ammo?

  2. Sure, he may not be extremely safety conscious, but he puts some really good info out for people that don't know a lot about firearms. And he does some really cool stuff that most people can't do due to restrictions in their state/city.

  3. I'll have to see what the grip plug does. I really wanted it to block the hole that goes up into the trigger mechanism. I'll have to check with someone at the next competition and see if they let me use it

  4. I think I've decided to forego the magwell until I get a dedicated competition gun. I am pretty good at managing the recoil as it is, just looking to make it even less. I ordered the stainless guide rod with a standard 17# spring today as well as a plastic grip plug from Glockmeister today. Hopefully that will help with recoil and reloads

  5. Because it's going to be my carry gun for now, I don't want to make too many changes that would effect the reliability, so I think I'm going to shoot production until I get a gun for carry only. If I do tungsten, it would probably push me over the weight limit

  6. I'm just trying to keep the nose down a bit. I have pretty good control, I just want a little more. I've been looking at the stainless steel guide rods at Glockmeister, but I'm not sure what spring to get, or if I should get the one that I can change the spring

  7. I'm not sure I understand the point of the magwell. I think it's to aid in reloads, blocking the edges of the gun so it won't catch. I've seen aluminum ones and brass ones that seem to add weight as well. Am I right in my understanding?

  8. This post is helping me a lot too. I just went down to a USPSA styled match to watch, mostly because I didn't have money or ammo, and I'm going to participate in and IDPA match tomorrow at Okeechobee to see if I like it any better

  9. I have Glock 22, and the holster I have is between the waistband and belt. I am planning on going down to Markham park tomorrow evening for the Thursday night USPSA match they have there and see what a match looks like from start to finish.

Thanks again for all the info, this went way beyond what I was expecting

  10. I'm not 100% sure what I want to shoot yet. I have a concealment holster that just snaps around the trigger guard that I'll use for carry. I want to try IDPA and USPSA production before I make a final decision. I was talking to me dad the other day about competition shooting, and he seemed really interested in IDPA, so I may end up shooting with him if he gets into it

  11. I have read a couple of posts about gear and equipment, and the holster is always described as "kydex." From what I've found on eBay, it's a material. So my question is, is there a specific brand that you guys suggest?
