  1. https://www.wingtactical.com/firearm-parts/ar-15-parts/muzzle-devices/strike-industries-5-8-24-muzzle-device-alignment-shim-kit/ have ordered form these guys before with good results. Not a huge strike industries fan but probably hard to mess up shims

Have a jamb nut on a no name comp and prefer that.

  2. Bought one some years back before they were ranger proof. AIM carried them for a year or two and it looks like the company rebranded or sold to Ranger Proof. It was a trigger shoe only back then. At the time there were not nearly as many options as there are now.

I really like the trigger, but do not use it as much as I did originally. It coupled with springs, disconnector and an over travel screw made for a nice 3lb, short trigger. I believe the shoe has different pivot points so that the pre travel starts at the firing pin block. So prior to the break, there is still travel but a good bit less than a stock glock

  3. Have not shot the KKM, but believe it was set up for Rolands so 124 nato would be a good place to start. Do shoot a carver 2 port https://www.carvercustom.com/ecommerce/comps-barrels-glock-xdm-s-w-m-p/glock/glock-compensators/gen-3-carver-custom-3-port-comp-9mm-2052.cfm and it works with 115 factory. Usually use federal. Looking at the carver it has smaller side ports so it may work better with lower power ammo.

  4. Not familiar with PPC, but best of luck. The calculators are pretty good but only as good as the info you put in, so drop could be a little more depending on the bullet profile and velocity etc. Saw this web article where they were getting 2" drop at 50. https://www.mcarbo.com/9mm-trajectory-chart-vs-40-s-w-trajectory-chart.aspx. Not sure if the .6" would make or break you but just wanted to offer the additional info. Hope you have a fun match.

  5. According to strelok PPU 124 fmj gr travelling at 1120fps out of 1/10twist barrel sighted in at 25yds will drop 1.4 inches at 50yds. Google "ballistics calculator" and you should find plenty of options to enter your data into. No idea if the factory sights are set at 25yds. Have shoot some run and guns with 50-75 yard targets and found that my trigger press is a lot worse than my sights.

  6. Here is a decent video series that covers lapping, sleeve compound etc.

It is a 4 part series of brief videos that go over the aspects of building an upper. I am sure there some things that someone can find fault with, but I found them helpful when I decided to to put together a more accurate upper.

  7. Used the egw mount on a glock to try out a red dot. Worked fine. Used it for a few months to see if that was the route I wanted to go. As mentioned above it is not optimal but it is a great way to try out a rds without making permanent mods to your pistol. The dot will be pretty high compared to a milled slide but it worked fine for me.

Not sure what the assumed issue with the barrel is, after following your link I picked up a G19 threaded and G17 standard.  Both fit great and fuction correctly.

" tighter than stock fit and thought that if the slide were to wear to the barrel that could cause problems down the road if I swapped back.  not wanting to wear the slide to the cheap barrel if that is possible."

Could turn out to be a great barrel and hope it works well for you. My only concern was if the slide would wear to the tighter barrel

take15 will get you 15% off if anyone else decides to try them out.

  9. "My question is why buy it if you were iffy about them??"

Lot of positive reviews made me feel okay about purchasing it. Bought it to try a comp and figured give it a try and If it didn't like a comp, I wasn't out much. Really had no concerns until I noticed the tighter than stock fit and though that if the slide were to wear to the barrel that could cause problems down the road if I swapped back. Also do not expect a $50 barrel to last as long as a factory or KKM etc so hence the reason for not wanting to wear the slide to the cheap barrel if that is possible.

Everything about the barrel looks okay. Rounds fit okay, gun goes into battery. Rifling looks shallow and the finish could be better but it is what I would expect at the price point. Will post up results compared to stock when I get a chance to shoot it.

  10. Picked up a cheap threaded barrel to play with on a 19. It fits tighter than the factory barrel. Have never swapped a barrel before and am concerned that the slide may wear to the cheap tighter fitting barrel making the factory barrel fit even looser. It is an MOS slide so I do not want to screw it up. Something to worry about or just shoot it?
