Will there be a need to bring 4-wheeler to access certain stages? It was necessary two years ago, but not so much last year. If I can get away with parking reasonably close like last year and using a 3-gun cart, that would be preferred to hauling the 4-wheeler.

Will there be a secure location where ATVs etc. could be parked overnight, or do we need to load them up each night?
-
Will there be food and drink available on the range during the day, or do we need to bring our own?
-
The Max family was also present. I was ROing so I didn't have time to talk much but I shot with them at RM3G last year. Father, two sons, and daughter. Not sure if their mom shoots with them. They were great to shoot with in NM, hope to see them there again!

I shot with Team Max at this match. Great bunch of folks. Yes, the mom shot too. The 16-year old unfortunately got DQ'd, but we were incredibly impressed with how he handled the situation. He pled his case to the ROs and Sheldon of his own accord. Kudos to Mom and Dad for letting him handle it on his own.

Are we okay to park a utility vehicle and a 16' trailer at the range for the duration of the weekend?
-
Is there really going to be a 60 round pistol course, or are you just messing with us? If there is, I'm gonna need more mags quickly. :\
-
I have not been to this range yet. What will the parking situation be like (how close to the stages)? Also, what are the rules on 4-wheelers/carts/etc.?
-
Will there be any emails or other notification as to whether our mailed-in application was received? I sent my app in shortly after they were posted, but haven't heard anything since.

SGDM, kudos for running a great match, and sorry to hear about the aftermath and fallout. Let me know if I can be of any legal assistance to you in the coming weeks. Thanks for letting us hit the range this afternoon before the rain, and we hope to see you in Phoenix next week.
What is the aftermath and fallout? Did something happen after the match?

....The BBQ stage was by fart the best....
Boy, I'll say.....that was a long ride home.

Greg, many thanks for a great match. Very challenging, especially for those of us that are just office pansies.
Two comments:
Preferably choose another weekend besides Mother's Day. One week before or after would have saved some grief over being gone for Mother's Day.
Would it save time to join the two back-to-back squads into one larger squad? I know you're trying to give folks a chance to go get BBQ and take a break in between, but it might save time by cutting the stage briefings and walk-throughs in half, and there would be more folks resetting between shooters.

Our Squad did not get to shoot on Sunday , and I was to worn down to even go and look it over. But I was told=
The max time was 180 seconds and 80% of the shooters could not manage to make it to the end. I don't mind a long stage just the max time would have had to change to 240 like at Blue Ridge before most of the squads had shot it.
I did learn some new tricks that will help me
Our squad didn't get to shoot it either. Looked like it would have been fun. As I understand it, the reason for throwing out the stage was a combo of the large number of shooters parring out on it, and the reset times were running a little too long. Either one of those alone probably would not have resulted in the stage being thrown out, but with both things happening, it was probably a good call to toss it.

I think some folks are gonna try and get together over at the fox and hound...down the street from the hotel...what times is good for everyone?
Are wayward out-of-state folks invited? Don't want to crash a private party, but Fox and Hound sounds good.

Okay, now for the important question: who's got a good recommendation for a steak house reasonably near the hotel(s) (I'm staying at the La Quinta, but it's close to the match hotel)? After a long match day, the steak and beer is the thing that puts the icing on the cake.

Will we be able to drive vehicles to each stage, or will it be better to use a cart? I know you said 4-wheelers/golf carts are okay, but what about trucks?
-
So we can drive to each stage? I wasn't sure whether to bring my cart or not, but if we can drive to each stage I definitely won't bring the cart.

Yes, I've used the Choate +4, but had to trim the spring back to 34" long. The spring from Choate comes 39" long and yep, it puts too much pressure on the first round that will be fed from the tube. Just try it and cut it, that's what I wound up doing. That's the length that worked for me.
I tried trimming the spring....to the point that if round #1 will come out, round #8 will not. I'll play around with it again, but I couldn't get the springs to the point of feeding round #1 and round #8.

Has anyone tried to up the capacity on the 930SPX to 8+1 rather than the stock 7+1? If so, did it work and how did you accomplish it? I have a 930SPX that I have been trying to increase the capacity on, but I've been having problems getting it to work with the Choate 8 round tube extension. The added spring tension when full causes the shell stop to hang up. Increasing the spring tension on the shell stop causes the last round to not feed. Anyone else have these issues?

The gas expulsion from the piston shouldn't be a problem, but you might run into problems touching the barrel, or even from comp/brake/hider gas expulsion. I have a POF that expels the gases fairly close to where I hold it, and I've never had it even get hot on my hands.

In case the Hyatt books up, I booked a room at the Laquinta just down the street. It is $89 per night for the first two nights and $82 for the third (Fri, Sat, Sun).

Not that my vote probably counts for much, but my vote would be for the Beaumont/Orange range.
If it's still correct, the San Angelo website says they only have out to 200 yds.

I have the Timney larger radius trigger and love it. I really wanted a flat trigger, but there weren't any available (the McCormick was not in production at the time). The Timney was the next best thing.

Will ATVs/UTVs be recommended for this range, or can we drive close to all the stages with trucks?
