  1. I am migrating to a "Vogel" grip with the left hand much higher which sort of shields the slide stop - my right thumb now rides on the heel/base of left thumb eliminating the problem.

Does the TDL not dig into the base of your thumb with this grip? I ask because it has when I've tried it.

I have this problem but I think it is technique error on my part allowing the gun to jump to much.

  2. These are awesome. What coating did you use?

Both were done with a custom mixed cerakote color, work was done by BattleKote out of Tucson, AZ.

Very cool. How is it holding up?

  3. I am not sure if this shows up in this thread somewhere but it is kinda long.

I am looking to pick up a Nordic +5 tube, should I get a barrel clamp, will it have a big effect on poa?

    Thanks

Any advice or link to advice or page num that has advice? Haha

  4. I noticed in the video it mentions one of the safeties is to prevent it from firing when out of battery. The review from Mas Ayoob(spelling?) he mentions the gun has the ability to fire when pressed up against someone and it is pushed out of battery.

I think what Mas was referring to was that neither the barrel nor slide extend beyond the dust cover, which will prevent it from going out-of-battery when pressed into an object (i.e. bad guy).

I'm wondering if this is (or anticipated as) a requirement of the MHS trials, as the top of the Beretta APX slide is angled rearward, at the front, taking this idea an additional step. Just speculation on my part...

That could be, the APX does have kind of a goofy look with that angle there, so maybe there is a reason for it.

When dry firing I have pushed my 320 out of battery and it seems to kind of force itself back into battery when you pull the trigger. Anyone else try this? I suppose this really isn't all that relevant for a competition situation.

  6. Hmm interesting. I did notice if I got my finger at the very bottom of the trigger it kind of pinched but not too bad and I'm not sure how filling the gap at the top of the trigger would help. I'm a little worried if my gun is releasing vapors to a place it shouldn't be maybe something isn't locking up correctly.

I'd guess it has more to do with the ammo you are shooting, powder, bullet specifically, than anything wrong with the gun. I know I'll end up with black finger from my Glock, sometimes, depending on what ammo I use.

Ok, I've been shooting some factory PPU ammo, maybe it is just dirty. I've never experienced a black finger like this from either of the 2 Glocks I use but I haven't shot PPU ammo before. I'll Grab some different ammo and see if it changes anything.

  8. Hit up the range again today and put another 170 or so rounds through the 320. Getting better with it, still have to be careful to keep my thumb out of the way of the slide stop or the slide won't lock back on an empty mag. I feel like the trigger is just a little bit heavier than I expect it to be and I tend to be a little low left with most shots.

One thing I noticed is my trigger finger is getting covered in black soot. Is anyone else experiencing stuff coming down through the trigger hole?

Here is a pic of 15 rounds at 8 yards.

  9. I'm gonna have to get familiar with my dies a little bit it sounds like. I purchased a hornady 3 die set that I haven't even looked at since I can't seem to find powder in stock anywhere. Thanks for the info Jcc

  10. Haha I don't doubt it will show wear as I use it. Just some of the spots where it is showing wear seemed a little weird. Mostly in the last pic where the edges of that relief cut show wear.

The wear at the rear of that relief cut is from the top of the breech block as it slides under when it unlocks. Every Sig I own has that. I would imagine that any gun with that style of barrel lockup will show some wear there. I usually dab a little grease there when I lube the gun.Not sure why there's wear farther up, unless it has something to do with how the slide was held when it was coated.

Yeah, it's the marks farther up that had me a little disappointed maybe. Hopefully it won't be an issue.

  11. That's a heavy bullet. I most likely won't be competing with the bullets since it is my glock 33. Maybe a gssf match or something. Still cool info, never thought about that heavy of a bullet as an option.

  12. That apx take down lever looks pretty massive as well. I still think glock has a good setup leaving the frame space unobstructed.

For me, it isn't the physical size, but the prominence. The P320 TDL has a noticeable stepped ridge, and sits atop the frame. The APX appears to be basically flat, and slightly recessed; similar to the M&P and FNS, neither of which I even notice.

I agree the lack of a ridge probably makes it better but i find that if I get my hand up as high as I want the edges of the TDL seem to be the main culprit of the rubbing.

I used the holster that came with the gun and made a couple kydex mag holders which all worked fine]

Those look great ... Nice job!

Thanks, they worked great for what I needed. They're a little rough around the edges as I'm still trying to get the hang of the kydex.

  13. I took the p320c to its first and my first ever shooting match. I managed to take second to last in production minor. That puts the gun up to about 225 rounds through it and so far zero issues.

As for my shooting clearly some more trigger time would have been good. I was over working it like mad and getting lots of low left pull. I'll chalk it up to nerves at my first event. Excuse making (; I used the holster that came with the gun and made a couple kydex mag holders which all worked fine. Reloads went smoothly but I never had to fire till slide lock so I am not sure if my thumb was hitting the release or not. Now I'm looking forward to getting some more range time and make it to a few more matches.

Edit I'm not sure how helpful the overall score is but I guess I managed to be 41 or 48th overall. Yay for being a little better than some people haha.
