  1. I am having trouble getting 147 grain blue bullets to run in the DWX.  I was loading them at 1.135 oal and was having trouble with extraction after shooting a couple of hundred rounds.  When I took the barrel out and but a loaded bullet (clean barrel) it did not want to fall out.  I had to take oal down to 1.100 to get it to fall out consistently.  I reduced the powder charge to from 3.1 of Tight Group at 1.135 Power Factor 138 to 2.9 in the 1.100.  The Power Factor is 134 now but  recoil is  extremely hard.  I believe this is due to compressing the load.  What would you suggest?  Different powder, bullet weight ?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  2. I just got my DWX.  Fit and Finish is great, But it has a 4.5 pound trigger.  Does anyone know who can do a good trigger job on it?

Also thanks to all who answered my previous question about the holster.

Got my Red Hill holster and love it.

  3. I just purchased a Gen 4 Glock 34. I am going to put in a gen 3 trigger bar but was wondering which connector would give me the lightest pull. I have a standard Ghost 3.5 in my gen 3 glock 19 and love it. The guys at ghost recommended the Ghost EDGE. The other connector I was considering was the Taran Butler connector. Which connector would you choose?

  4. Just bought a STI Sentry in .45 acp. Tried my usual load ( a 200 grain semi wadcutter loaded to 1.25 OAL) . I never have a problem with my other 4 1911's and this load but they have traditional non ramped barrels. The Sentry has a ramped barrel. The bullets would feed but during the cycling it feels like it has a little hitch. Also when racking the slide to charge the gun it doesn't want to go into battery easily all the time but will go in and fire. Any suggestions on how tweak the bullet to make the load run smoothly?

  5. I went to the range and everything is alot better. I adjusted my grip to get more of my week hand on the gun. It seemed to make all the difference in the world. The only other thing it could have been was changing my wore out recoil spring. Looking over my sights also helped to see you can slap the trigger and not jerk the gun off target. The TGO video really opened my eyes. Thanks to everyone for all the help.

  6. I have started jerking the trigger when doing a drill. I set 2 IDPA targets targets 5yds away (1 foot apart). At the beep of the timer I draw and fire 2 shots at each target. I am doing this drill to get faster splits. I have developed a jerk on the second shot of the first target. The shot is usually straight down below the 8 inch circle but some times it is low and slightly to the left. I use type 2 focus (confirm sights on the first target then look at the targets). I used to fly doing this drill. Are there any tips on pressing the trigger smoothly and quickly? When shooting fast close up do you release the trigger to just reset (which I am not doing) or just press the trigger? Any help would be welcome. Thanks.

  7. Having problems from my old digital scale. Its about 12 yrs old. iIt has become inconnsistent. I have tried everything to fix the problem. I have decided to buy a new one. What brand and type of diital scale would you recomend? It just needs to be reliable and consistent.

  8. I'm kicking around the idea of getting another 1911. I shoot IDPA and want to start shooting in USPSA single stack. What would be a good one to go with? I already have a Les Bauer Heavy Monolith (Which I can't use in IDPA)and a Night Hawk Dominator. I also have a Kimber custom target 1 that I have shot the crap out of, the trigger is now never consitient. I was thinking about a Wilson Combat CQB or maybe a STI Trojan. Also, are there any gunsmiths who could build a custom gun for around $2500 that would be a good gun to compete with? Any suggestions?
