  1. Springs are cheap. I had issues with their 140mm springs not lasting long at all, and their replacements weren’t any better. I stretched the springs and they seemed to last longer. I started replacing them with Wolff extra power springs.

TSO has a nice light trigger from factory. No need for tweaking. Choose recoil spring for your load and you are done.

I disagree. While it is light it can use improvements in the creep and reset aspects, as well as the ergos of the trigger pad itself.

  3. I will say after using the Springer TS pads for only one match, the retention with the set screw is a terrible design. The screw fits so tightly to the lip of the mag body that the screw threads engage the mag body and it takes zero effort to round out the hex socket of the set screw. They came with extra set screws, I should've known that was a bad sign from the start. I replaced two set screws from the word "go", installing the pads and backing out the screws to retain the pad was enough to round out the socket. There is a thread locking compound on the threads from the manufacturer, and I don't think this helps the stripping issue. The hex driver they send with the pads is next to useless, it rounds off promptly as well, within the first couple uses installing the pads.

If I were to do it again, I'd go with the CZCs. I sat down to clean mags after a USPSA this weekend and had one set screw that rounded out before I could get it recessed far enough to remove the pad. Now I've got a mag with a basepad that won't come off. Sweet.

...I think the stock plastic trigger deadened the felt reset.

I suspected this from the first time I dry-fired my TSO and felt the flex of the trigger pulling with the hammer down. It gives quite a bit. This off-season I'd like to install something like the 6SAO or CGW flat trigger. Maybe just send it to CGW and have them perform their magic.

I came here to post this. I have one for my TSO. I've been using Blade Tech Black Ice holsters for years, and RHT is definitely a step up from that.

  6. I ordered 6 SP basepads last week, in a backordered color. I don't think the set screw will be a big deal, I keep an Allen key set in my range bag anyway. It's not like we're cleaning mags on the clock. At $37.50/ea, including the Grams spring and follower, it was much cheaper to outfit the 6 mags I have for my TSO.

I had to do the same with my M&P mags using Taylor extensions.

Some combos require that you do some fitting to the follower. This is one reason I prefer Grams followers if they're available for the application. I liked them in my STI mags, so I ordered some for my TSO mags when I was ordering basepads. I think you do have to use their spring, however, as the attachment to the follower is different than the factory follower and spring.

    Makes sense, thanks man.

NP, you can trim the springs you have and you might have to sand on the follower a tiny bit to get the follower past the transition in to the basepad

Sounds like the springers will be great for you then. Believe they are cheaper as well. Good luck either way.

I looked at CZCs initially, I like the retaining clip on them better than the set screw.

Problem with the sprinters is that you have to use a set screw to install and disassemble them. That sucks if you need to do that on several stages at a match and the set screw will eventually strip out. I got CZC ones and they are great. Mine is for .40 though.

CZCs have been out of stock all week, SP are in-stock. I also have 6 mags I'll be putting base pads on, so the cleaning frequency won't be as big of issue. I also don't clean my mags between stages. Dirty mags haven't been an issue for me, so I generally don't do it.

  11. I'm looking at 140mm basepads for my 9mm TSO, specifically Springer. I don't see a capacity listed, nor can I find one in the places I've looked. With their extra power spring and factory follower, is the setup +3 (23+1) and with the Grams kit +4 (24+1)? Is one setup any more/less reliable than the other?

These safeties suck on this gun. The only thing stopping this gun from being perfect in my opinion

I agree. The left side safety (I'm a righty) is too short (big hands/long fingers) and with a high grip the trigger finger knuckle engages the right side safety. I wish there was a single-side safety available. I'll likely end up with an extended left safety and shave the shelf off the right side safety tab. FWIW, I had this issue with my 2011s but the solution was much easier: GI single-side safety.

Ambi safeties are for the birds.

  13. Aero slick upper

    Seekins 15" NOXs rail

    JP Bolt

    JP 16" SuperMatch Barrel

    BCM charging handle

    AP Mfg brake

    NFA Glock lower

    JP lpk

    Hiperfire 24c

    SI Viper stock

KVP buffer tube, 9mm buffer and 308 carbine buffer spring

Glock 33rd and ETS 31rd mags

It has run 100% since putting it together. Zero issues or "tuning" needed so far.

Mine were loaded to 1.16" so maybe that's the problem.

I ran the 147s I had loaded back through the seater die when I got home that evening and seated them to 1.16", and used them the next day in 3-gun in my G34 with ETS mags and didn't have any issues in 5 different 140mm mags. I'm going back to Glock factory mags for matches and use the ETS mags for practice/range fun for now, until I can get them re-sprung and make sure they're GTG again.

I had that problem a week ago with one mag, but was thinking it was due to dirt getting in the mag since we drop them during competition. There must be some magical middle ground for mag springs. Too soft and they can stick (salt shaker), to hard and they can nose dive.

I've encountered a few nose dives in my 31rd ETS mags, though that was my fault. I loaded some 147gr plated RN to 1.17", because they easily fit in a factory Glock mag. Evidently the ETS has a smaller ID than the Glock mag, because the nose of a bullet would get hung up on the front wall of the mag and put everything in a bind, causing a salt-shaker. Naturally, I didn't catch it until match day, on the clock. Luckily it was just Steel Challenge.

My ETS mags run perfect, but my Glock stick has a problem every time in my NFA lower. It runs 1-4 rounds and then jams a round into the top of the barrel extension. Not sure if the mag is moving, but there is a very little bit of forward back play. The ETS mags have no issues at all.

I started having issues with my 140mm ETS mags going salt shaker, and my 31rd sticks have started doing the same. I think ETS uses some cheap springs that don't give a very long service life. I ordered a pile of Glock 33rd mags for my PCC from Midway (on sale for $24.99), but haven't used them yet. Hopefully my NFA lower plays nice with them, and I'll likely re-spring all my ETS mags with Wolff springs.

I got a notification that Joe bobs got these in on thursday. They still have the matrix uppers in stock now.

They got NFA side chargers in? I'll pass on the Matrix upper. I must have missed a notification and need to reset it. I see that KVP barrels are finally back in stock there

I tried to find a New Frontier Armory side-charging upper online for over a month without luck. I stopped into their store in Las Vegas while on a trip and they had them in stock. I'd suggest calling their retail store if they show out of stock online.

Did you happen to ask what the issue was with supply to dealers? I'm on like 3 different retailers' notification lists, and have been for a few months now.
