  1. I just recenntly ran into a simular problem, check and see if the hex screws/bolts holding up the roller bracket shell platform is firmly attached. Mine backed off and caused me major grief, and took me a while to find the problem.

I've read this thread through and through to find some way to figure out why my 45 ACP primers are being loaded at a slight angle.  Racine

  2. I have my own story of embarssing moments. I was giving my Gold Cup a through cleaning in my early days in IPSC (1991) and put her back together, cycle checked it, dropped the hammer, etc. all was well.

I was called to the line and instructed to 'Load & Make Ready' , I drew my GC, got a hold of a mag  , and tried to insert it, , only took me 30 seconds to figure out I put the mag well on backwards B) (one of those with rabbit ears.

Needless to say, if I do a detailed strip, I fire the gun before showing up at a match.

  3. Whist setting up a brainstorm come to mind for a toolhead holder. This is the prototype and will be followed up with some less warped wood , and other minor alterations, what do you think?

It's made with 50BMG cases with the primer holes drilled out to accomadate a screw to fasten them down. bottle neck allows the toolhead to rest on it and keeping the dies from hitting the bench/surface. It took me a while to figure out how to neck the 50BMG down. I used the center hole in the 550 toolhead (from the bottom side, tapped them in a couple of times) then flipped the toolhead over, tapped the neck back in and collapsed the shoulder just a smidgon to stop the neck from returning/springing back to a larger size.

  4. You mean the grip safety is loose and jiggles because it isn't held by the mainspring housing? That happened to both my Limited guns. I had BrianH fix it with a little pin connecting the two.

Yes, the grip safety blows by the mainspring housing and I have to pop it back in place. I have nothing against pinning it, however, for the amount of change I had to throw at it, I would like to see it function properly.

  5. Hi all

I just purchased an STI 2011 Eagle 5.5 in 38 Super (used)

I find that the grip safety is slipping by the mainspring housing. The claws(?) are not engaging the mainspring housing to keep it in place. Any ideas what is going on?
