  1. I have a Dillon D-Terminator Electronic Scale, (which I purchased 18 months ago).

Yesterday something strange started to happen when I tried to start it. Instead of just turning on and having a 0.00 sign, (on the LCD Display) it shows 5 U's, (as in U U U U U), which move up and down on the Display and up and down arrows on the left hand side of the LCD Display.

The Cal/Mode and Zero buttons don't seem to have any effect at all. Can anyone tell me what I should do? Although Dillon have a no bullshit guarantee, I would rather not send the Terminator Scale back to USA, if it is something I can fix here in Europe.

Thanks in advance for any help... Mark.

  2. I bought a 2200 based on reviews. Check them out at midwayusa.com

The 2200 is still not big enough and I should have bought the dillon big boy.

I think the difference lies in the construction. The 2500 was built after the 2200 so I think it has cheaper and thinner plastic. The 2200 is pretty sturdy.

    Randy

Yeah, thats what I heard, but was not sure.

But a shame that they did that, as it holds up to 250 brass more.

  3. What is the difference between:

Lyman 2500 Pro Magnum Auto Flo Tumbler

    and

    Lyman 2200 Auto-Flo® Tumbler

and why is the Lyman 2500 Pro Magnum Auto Flo Tumbler cheaper?

    Thanks.

The 2500 is larger than the 2200 by a 1/4 of a gallon. 1000 cases vs 750 cases (38SP). I have both. My 2200 is the only one with Auto Flo and I do not like the auto flo feature.

I suggest the 2500 without auto flo.

Thanks for an answer, but Lyman make the:

    2500 Pro Magnum Tumbler

2500 Pro Magnum Auto Flo Tumbler

    and

    2200 Auto-Flo® Tumbler

So you can get the 2500 with Auto Flo as well.

So therefore my original question still stands...

    What is the difference between:

Lyman 2500 Pro Magnum Auto Flo Tumbler

    and

    Lyman 2200 Auto-Flo® Tumbler

and why is the Lyman 2500 Pro Magnum Auto Flo Tumbler cheaper?

I was concerned, because I wondered if the 2500 had a smaller motor or was cheaper constructed, as it is bigger, holds more brass, has the Auto Flo system and therefore better value for money.

Thats why I wondered if anyone knew the difference between the models?

    Thanks.

  4. I've had the G26 lens for my M-frames for at least 2 years. As Showclear said, they're not dark enough for the really bright days, but I used to use them on overcast days. So far this season I've been using my clear lens on overcast days and medium gray lens for brighter days and I think I prefer it this way.

    +1

But I live in Denmark, so I just love them.

I do have 5/6 other pair of lenses though.

  5. The idea is to really shoot a PD gun straight out of the box, (in theory).

You are only allowed to remove burrs from the trigger, not tune it.

The 5lb trigger pull on the first shot is correct.

Any parts that you are allowed to change have to be OEM parts.

You are not allowed to reshape grips or add more than one layer of skateboard tape.

e.g (any grips that you are allowed to change, should be no larger or than the original grips).

Have a look at PD discussions on the Global Village.

    Hope this helps.

  6. have you thought about STI brand slide ? Brownell's stocks a STI slide like you want and most likely would have it shipped any where in US in about 5 days.

Yes thanks, but I think that Caspian make a better slide, so if I can, I would rather get one of those.

    What do you guys think?

    SVI or Caspian?

Call Dawson. He usually has slides in stock.

    Cheers, as in dawsonprecision?

  8. Hi can anybody help me find a:

Caspian Slide 5" 40 SW No Radius, (aka Full Dust Cover).

Preferably with No Serrations and no Bomar or Front Sight Cuts.

It is to a fit on a SVI 5" Stainless Long Dust Cover Frame.

I am not too bothered if it is made out of Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel.

I am visiting USA between 4th Feb - 18th Feb and Caspian cannot guarantee delivery in that time frame, so can anyone point me towards the right person, shop, or company please?

    Thanks upfront.

  9. Is there any word on a start time for Friday, or just "first Light"

    The current schedule is:

shooting starts Friday at 7:30 AM with a 30 minute break for lunch.

Sat & Sun morning group - 7 AM.

    Sat afternoon group 1 PM

    Sun afternoon group 12:10 PM

Any changes will be posted on here.

    Thanks for posting the times.

WOW... you guys like to start early.

I guess that there will be many shooters then?

Roughly what do you expect the squad sizes to be?

  10. OK, maybe a new possibility has presented itself.

I guess that in the terms of reloading once fired brass... Winchester, Federal or Fiocchi are all fine?

But which do you think is best and why?

    Thanks for the help.

  11. I need a hotel update -

I have rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Winter Havan and the Green Gables. I am trying to decide which one I should stay with. Winter Haven is about a 30 minute drive to the range, is it not?

I had the same sort of "mind problem".

Also, I am not from the States, so it was really guesswork.

But the two things that got me through were.

    1. Boo Radley's comments.

    2. There was nowhere else to book. (probably motels, or whatever, but I would not like to chance that).

So what did you decide? Also, out of curiosity, where are you coming from?

Hi Jack, I was just having a Laugh.

But I did have the same scenario in my head as you did.

I wanted to book other Hotels, but they were all booked up, especially on the Saturday, so it was Green Gables or nothing.

    So I chose.... Green Gables.

I did not like the web page.

I did not like the pictures on the web page.

I did not like that I could not book, properly online.

and... I also wondered, just like you... how come I can still get a room here, when I cannot get one any place else???

But I did not see any choice, so...

    Yippee... Green Gables it is.

Me: I am coming from Denmark.

By the way... What did you choose?

I think I might end up with the HI Express in Winter Haven. It doesn't seem like its that much further and I think the are more restaurant choices there. the fact that there are 20 rooms available at the Green Gables scares me. A friend reminded me that we were not too pleased the last time we stayed there. So, HI Express it might be. With my Priority account, I am paying $90/night at the HI and the Green Gables quoted $87. So, its not that big of a price difference.

    Gotta start reloading, now.

Hi there, not that it really matters, as I think this will be a dodgy place too, however, if you say that you are with the competition, it comes down to $75 a night.

  12. Cheers Luca, yes that was one of the places I looked at.

I was just wondering of the quality of which Brass is the best to aim for.

Then I would worry about getting it over here.

I have ordered 1000 Starline, but it costs so much.

    Cheers...

  13. One thing I've noticed about Federal brass in 10mm, if I run across a cracked case after a reload or three, it's a Federal case nine out of ten times. These are not overly hot loads, BTW, just target loads.

And in 9mm, the brass that feels roughest running in my 550B is, in this order, S&B by a long shot, then probably Federal. Not problematic, just not as smooth in the press.

I normally save once or twice fired Winchester for match brass and run the mixed case stuff for practice. I shoot at a range with a lot of LE training so I get a chance to scarf up a reasonable quantity of Remington brass in 9mm. For some reason, the Remington brass consistently seems to load a two or three .001 longer than the Winchester on average...Speer runs just the opposite, a few thousands shorter.

EDITED: because typos drive me

    Yeah cheers.

So far, the only 357 SIG Brass that we can get over here is S+B (in full rounds and then reload), but my experience with them in 9mm is that I don't really like them at all.

or Starline, which costs a small fortune.

It is a legal caliber over here, but no one uses it, so you simply cannot pick up any used Brass.

Thats why I was looking to US.

As I am led to believe that it is popular with some Law Officials over there and so it is possible to purchase some 357 SIG once fired Brass.

But it seems that PMC and Speer are the ones most offered.

I just wondered, as we used to like to reload PMC 9mm here, years back, when we could purchase them.

    What do you think?

  14. By the way guys, it is for caliber 357 SIG, not that I guess that changes much, as it is really more about the Brass quality and Primer seat, etc and consistency and quality that I am asking.

But I figure that you should know.

Not to be too negative, but there probably aren't that many .357 Sig reloaders out there...but it would be interesting to see how the brass compares with .40 S&W brass as far as the good brands and not so good brands.

Edit to add: I have yet to see Starline brass in any caliber that was anything but very good...might be worth a look.

    Cheers... yeah.

I agree that 40 SW would be the one to go for and compare Brass. (and no you are not being negative at all).

I did not want to be too specific about it being 357 SIG, as I figure that it mostly comes from Police using them down range and of course, probably not reloading them, so it is hard to find out any details on good or bad Brass.

So, I would also agree on the 40 SW Brass, to give an idea.

Yes, I fully agree about the Starline and have ordered some, but they cost about four times the price as once used Brass, so that it out of the question for normal practice or small matches.

I have noticed that in 357 SIG Brass, the two main brands offered were Speer and PMC, so thats why I posed the question, mostly based on these two... if possible.

    Cheers for any input.

  15. By the way guys, it is for caliber 357 SIG, not that I guess that changes much, as it is really more about the Brass quality and Primer seat, etc and consistency and quality that I am asking.

But I figure that you should know.
